The Charmant Hotel

Great location along with great service

The hotel is elegant, beautiful, and unusual for the Midwest. It has a European sensibility but with Midwestern friendliness . We visited on our anniversary and were given congratulations and best wishes by several members of the staff. We had the most delightful server at dinner. We were seated at a lovely table overlooking the park and found a personal anniversary card on our table. The food was divine and our server, Luis went to great lengths to explain each dish. I honestly thought he was in the kitchen supervising the creation of our choices. He took a great deal of care to make sure we were happy, without being intrusive. Everything from the dinner rolls to the lavender crème brûlée was delicious. If you like escargot I highly recommend the unusual appetizer that features bone marrow with the escargot. The rooms at the Charmant are spotless and lovely. The bedding is pure white and very comfortable . The bathroom is fabulous with everything you need plus an oversized shower. If you stay overnight you should have breakfast. You will not be disappointed

We were forced to leave early due to weather and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We really appreciate the personal service and it is one reason why we always stay at the Charmant when we visit LaCrosse.

This place is amazing from the check in to the check out. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ate dinner at the bar and had breakfast in the restaurant. All of the staff were accomodating and the food was exceptional. We would come back anytime we are in the area.

A Wonderful First-Time Stay with a Few Bumps Highlights: Beautifully appointed room with exceptionally comfortable beds. Outstanding valet team — each one friendly, professional, and full of personality. Enjoyed the delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches via room service. Perfectly sized boutique hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Ideal location for a peaceful stay. Impressive revitalization of a beautiful historic building. Areas for Improvement: The bar service our first evening was disappointing. The staff appeared disorganized, and were inattentive, and unwelcoming, which set an unfortunate tone at the start of our stay. The Margarita was poorly made, and for these reasons we chose not to return to the bar for the remainder of our 4-night visit, or dine in the restaurant. The pizza served at your rooftop bar, was also mediocre at best. Suggestion: Add a vertical grab bar to the wall at the opening of your walk-in shower in your handicap accessible rooms. It made it very unsafe not having one. Also, the shower floor is very slippery, making for yet another treacherous obstacle. Upon our request, we did appreciate you providing us with a shower mat that was somewhat helpful - but it was not able to cover the majority of the shower floor space. I dreaded having to use the shower for these reasons - and should be easy fixes.

Tyco the manager of the rooftop bar is amazing. We went during octoberfest and it was awesome. Drew at the front desk was great and the Sunday brunch was out of this world. Loved the bacon and the pancakes.
