I’ve stayed at many beautiful properties around the world, but this one is in a league of its own, definitely one I will never forget. It felt like a home away from home, the kind of reset I didn’t even realize I needed until I was standing in the middle nature surrounded by breathtaking grounds. From the moment I arrived, Claire, Olivia, Tatiana, Charly, and their incredible team made everything feel effortless. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality brought a softness to the stay that you can’t buy. Every interaction felt personal, every detail intentional. The property was filled with sculptures tucked into the landscape, beautiful interiors, serene lakes, and walking paths that taught me to slow down. I had to so much fun exploring the château, wandering the gardens, or having tea sitting in stillness by my window listening to the birds. This property brought a sense of peace and calm which was exactly what needed. The suites are spacious, refined, and grounded in natural materials, quiet luxury at its finest. Michelin dining was a culinary experience and Chef Matthieu was so innovative with his menu. Everything was rooted in local ingredients. Just delish. The spa was an inexperience in its own. What a reset for my entire nervous system. They are known for their wellness and it shows. If you’re looking for an escape that blends luxury, nature, wellness, and artistry, Domaines des Étangs is truly unmatched. I left lighter, inspired, and already planning my return. Highly recommended for travelers seeking tranquility, beauty, and world-class hospitality in the heart of the French countryside.

The employees here only know the best possible way to do everything... and they do it in a way that makes you feel they are genuinely enjoying giving wonderful service. This physical product: rooms, views, food and beverage offerings, and amenities are far beyond amazing, there is simply nothing like this experience. Icons of resort excellence seem like they should be in training by comparison.

We were fortunate to be invited to a family wedding to this classic French chateau in the middle of the countryside. It is not easy to get here, but they do offer a paid car service (180 each way), its under an hour, from Angouleme the nearest station and return. We stayed in a large room inside the chateau in the turret. It was lovely experience. The clothes hidden closet particularly clever. Super bathroom, in fact all a real delight. We enjoyed various meals and beverages which were each up to par. We should mention the staff friendliness and hospitality really do go the extra meter.

We booked a lunch reservation and decided to stay for the night as the property and grounds were stunning. The artwork and design inside is a perfect blend of modern and antique. Loved wandering the grounds (and using the complimentary e-bikes) and thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and dinner on property. Highly recommend this property.
