Mansión Mérida Boutique Hotel - Restaurant

Gorgeous boutique hotel with staff that goes above and beyond. The heir of the estate actually greets guests and ensures they have a pleasant stay. We only got to stay for one night, but they upgraded our room and allowed us to enjoy the pool as we arrived early and they needed time to get the room ready. It is worth the price.

We stayed at this hotel from August 7–11, 2025, and it was easily one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. The property is a 19th-century French-style mansion turned boutique hotel, full of ornate details that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, given refreshing chaya drinks, and upgraded from a Jr. Suite to a Suite without even asking. The room was spotless, elegant, and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was a highlight, served in a gorgeous open-air atrium with a fountain, palms, and flowers. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, with options like handmade tortillas, fresh juices, and a wide menu. Service was impeccable, and one morning we even enjoyed live folkloric dancers in the courtyard. The owner, Raul Casares — great-grandson of the original owner — personally greeted us and encouraged us to contact him for anything we needed. When we asked about visiting Cenotes Santa Barbara, Raul arranged for his trusted friend Nazario to drive us, which was much more reliable than taking buses or colectivos. Nazario was kind, helpful, and waited for us during our visit. After I hurt my back at the cenotes, Raul arranged for a doctor, who was at my room within 40 minutes. Thanks to the treatment, I was able to continue enjoying the rest of our trip. Raul even checked on me personally throughout our stay, including during a quiet day by the pool, where we relaxed with drinks and snacks. This hotel is everything: historic charm, immaculate rooms, fantastic dining, attentive staff, and an owner who treats his guests like family. We will absolutely be back.

We just returned from spending a week at the Mansion Merida & the experience was first class all the way. Upon our late evening arrival, we were met by a driver who took us to the hotel where we were greeted with a cocktail & taken to our suite. We stayed on the 1st floor in a Jr. suite which was spacious & beautifully decorated with a separate sitting area that opened to the courtyard & pool; a perfect spot for our coffee each morning. The entire hotel was quite spectacular with fresh flowers, plants & painted murals. Many photos taken over the years placed around the sitting areas were interesting. Breakfast each morning was served in the other courtyard & included various dishes & fruit. We enjoyed the pianist playing each morning while we ate as well as the turn down service each evening. Mr. Raoul, the owner, came by to check on us several times during our stay & was at our door at 5am the day of our departure to assist us with our bags! I can't say enough about the staff; from the front desk to the waitstaff & housekeeping, they were all very helpful & friendly-making us feel special....recommendations for area restaurants were spot on. We hired a driver (thru the front desk) for a private tour of the city & a visit to the beach. He was spoke perfect English & was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the Merida. Other than the weather being extremely Hot (104-106), it was a perfect week thanks to the Mansion Merida!

Excellent service, the property is so vintage that I love the vibe and ambience. The people was so nice and helpful.

This has to be one the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in, and I travel all over the world! The room was so large and beautiful with a large restroom and a big rain shower and all the amenities. The breakfast was excellent with so many choices! And the service impeccable!!! I'd stay here over and over again! If you are ever in Mérida stay at the Mansion Mérida! You too will be writing a great review! So grateful to all the staff for their excellent service! They even surprised with a picture of us in the hotel with a gracious hand written note!
