Midland Hotel

Classic hotel. The 80’ 5*. Great view from room 222. Nonetheless the room is outdated. The elevator is ages old. Good for short stay. The location is superb with walking distance to Morrisons and Aldi. Great breakfast and environment.

Hotel looks a bit tired externally but free parking onsite is a bonus. Inside is similar, some of it could do with some tlc, but its generally clean and has pleasant staff in my experience. Great sized room with a view over they bay even from the bath. Good nights sleep and waterfall shower to wake you up. Breakfast standard for this class of hotel but well cooked and enough choice. Filter coffee not good but waiter got me a latte when asked no issue at all. Had Sunday roast too, excellent value and cooked perfectly. Hotel in great location, I will use it if visiting the area in futurel

I can honestly say these are the best couple of days we have had away for a long time. Unfortunately a couple of minor draw backs as I do not want to mislead people. The exterior looks tired and needs a paint job. Also we stayed in a suite room 302 - the decking on the balcony is a state and needs stripping and staining. Apart from that amazing. The suite was fabulous with amazing panoramic views over Morecambe bay. The bathroom is stunning with the best rain shower ever. Excellent breakfast included in the price - great choice continental and cooked. On top of that great staff very helpful and friendly. We loved it and will be booking again for next year....

Very prominently situated with marvellous views over the bay. Room was spacious and comfortable well equipped and clean. Plenty of tea and coffees in room. Had a balcony room, which was great. The staff were all friendly. Breakfasts were ample and tasty. We ate in the bar on the evening; there is a good selection of food and drinks available. Seating in the bars overlooking the bay bay also. The stay was relaxing.

We have stayed at The Midland previously and enjoyed everything from the moment we entered the building and approached reception in the welcoming and opulent entrance hall. Now, the entrance is set out as a modern cafe and the reception is relocated at the end of the cafe, amidst coffee machines and busy staff. Mostly, the busy cafe area results in no staff being available at the reception corner and it can be difficult phoning and making contact if arrangements need to be amended. The staff are extremely busy and it appears there are severe staff cuts. The remaining staff work relentlessly. The dinner menu used to be fine dining but now is pub classics such as sausage and mash, scampi and chips and pies etc. It has definitely lowered its appeal, which is a shame for customers wanting better, as used to be the case. The staff work hard, but there aren’t enough staff to provide the required service. Consequently, the standard is lower due to predetermined changes. The staff work tirelessly and guests are disappointed, which is not the fault of the staff. The rooms are lively and cleanliness is first class. Parking is good. The views, as always, are wonderful.

Beautiful, iconic design, sensitively restored. Book a sea view, you won't regret it- sunset over the bay with the sand blowing in intricate waves is stunning. Artwork by Eric Gill, refit by Urban Spkash. Memorable.
