Marriott's OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes

Atrocious. Getting an Oceanview room at this resort does not mean you get a view of the ocean. That is directly from Marriot. That pic is our view. Ocean view can be a view of anything even though the pictures online show a wonderful view of the ocean. Platinum Elite Member and they could care less. Looks like it time to get loyal to another brand. Do better Marriot

We were invited to stay here for a decent price during a timeshare viewing, and I have to say, I was quite impressed. Since it was definitely post-season, we appreciated having fewer people around, making for a more relaxing stay. The weather was nice, although the water was a bit cold, but the view from the ocean-view villas was spectacular and truly beautiful. One thing I really liked was the on-site kitchen! It’s a huge money-saver, especially for families. Even making one meal a day at home helps offset travel costs, and it was convenient to have that option. The hot tubs were a lifesaver since it was so cold outside, and they offered fun classes like s'mores for kids and aqua exercise classes, which added some extra entertainment. The gym was well-equipped, and the service overall was great. However, on our last day, the housekeeper knocked and entered immediately without giving us a moment to respond, that felt a bit unprofessional. Despite that, I still found the place and the area on that side of Myrtle Beach to be wonderful. If you’re planning a trip, I’d definitely recommend visiting off-season for the best prices and a more peaceful experience!

Could be great but they need to do pool renovations. Dated hot tubs with major cracks and chipping of the stone at the hot tubs. 4 of the 7 days were were there, the largest hot tub was closed for a mechanical issue. Still was not fixed with we left on 11/2. They are doing room renovations now and I hope the pool area is part of the renovations as well. Outdoor area just needs some updates..

Great place that we’ve been coming to for 16 years. There have definitely been some changes, some we weren’t happy with, but overall, we love this property. The staff responded to needs promptly and professionally and the front desk always called us to make sure whatever we requested was addressed. The AC worked well and the beds slept comfortably. Some negatives…the water pressure in the bathrooms wasn’t great, and there are never enough small tables by the pool. People reserving pool chaise lounges early in the morning has always been a problem. They have made an attempt to deal with it, but not sure there’s much they can do about that. We only had housekeeping come once to change the sheets and linens and restock supplies since we were there for two weeks. Although our room was clean, the housekeeping staff did not restock any of the beach towels, paper supplies or other supplies, so we had to call downstairs several times to get supplies. That was annoying & could have easily been avoided if they would’ve just restocked supplies when they cleaned the room. We did notice new changes that we didn't like, such as VERY loud DJ-type music by the pool at least once a week and there were no chaise lounges on our large balcony like there used to be. When we asked about this, we were given a number of excuses, yet there were some large balconies in one of the other buildings that had chaise lounges, so not sure why we were told they discontinued them for safety reasons. Also, they’ve done away with the weekly wine tastings because that staff member has retired. We would love to see the wine tastings, and a beer tasting added. With all this said, we highly recommend this property and look forward to seeing it next year after the renovations are complete.

An absolutely fabulous find! Beautiful 2 bedroom villas with fantastic ocean views! Very clean and well-maintained. We stayed there for two weeks and everything was perfect. We had no issues with the place. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. We were so impressed with this place. We loved our stay there! It was a perfect vacation!

My family are platinum owners of Marriott timeshare and I am bonvoy gold for life. I was assigned a garden view ground floor room where people walk by and stare in. The issue I have is the front desk people lied to me at check in saying they are sold out. Today I can book a 2 bed room online for only 365 a night! They told my wife they keep the good rooms for potential buyers not owners. Beware if you are a Marriott owner as you will receive different service here. I do not appreciate being lied to. I spoke to 2 managers who apologized for their staff not being honest but offered me nothing in return. Having stayed at dozens of Marriotts and several of their timeshares this is the worst experience in 30 years. I was told they don’t care my family are owners or of my lifetime gold status.
