We had the most amazing time at Sane Mane The glamping bungalows were beautifully designed—stylish, comfortable, and perfectly integrated with the natural surroundings. Our barbecue dinner was delicious and relaxing, and sitting around the fire in the evening made the experience even more special. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive—one of them even offered to drive us to the port the next morning so we could rent bicycles for our trip around the island. Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and welcoming. We also enjoyed the beautiful beach and had very nice swim We highly recommend Sane Mane to anyone visiting Naoshima—it’s a truly unique and memorable place to stay.

The idea that this is any type of “luxury” experience is a joke. The accommodation has literally no way to get you to and from the port of entry. There are no bikes on site, no cabs ever are available, and no hotel shuttle. The local free bus doesn’t go to this side of town. Great you are on a beach, but enjoy dragging your bags 15 minutes in the heat to get here. Then the yurts are on top of one another so the families all around you are waking you up constantly either their children. It was crazy hot and the AC could not heat the room in the middle of the day, so enjoy your “luxury” 85 degree Fahrenheit room. I could go on. If you are traveling light and not in the summer this might work but for the price (which is crazy high comparatively) I just think every other option on the island would be a better place.
