The Island House

I must say the ambiance was very soothing and their employees were quite engaging(our server in particular). My family and I dined at the restaurant by the pool. We enjoyed our food while relaxing at the poolside. Our server Dom in particular made the experience for us. His engagement with my family made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. The food was also amazing I highly recommend going !

First time here and what a place ! We were not expected such a beautiful hotel and pool. This is like a dream. Quiet place, not crowded at all. This is a perfect place for anyone looking for a nice and quiet place in a more than beautiful spot And thx Dom our pool server for the service. I

We first discovered The Island House during Covid and stayed for four unforgettable weeks. The staff and management made everyone feel completely at home during a challenging time. I just returned (April 2025) and had a 90-minute massage with the incredible Lynn Lowe. It was far more than a massage—her energy was healing, spiritual, and deeply restorative. My aches and pains vanished. If you’re lucky enough to book a session with Lynn, you’ll leave wondering: Has she ever experienced the kind of magic she gives to others? I never have—this was truly one of a kind.

My room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly, pleasant helpful and welcoming. The hotel offered a variety of restaurants for dining; my favorite was Yellowbell. I enjoyed my stay here because it provided a calm and laid back environment. I was able to rest and relax and have fun. My only concern was the description of the room, The Marina View Room, which did not offer a view of the Marina. The Manager advised this was the actual name for the 2nd floor rooms and not rooms that allow you to see the Marina.They are working on changing that description on their website because it is very misleading. However, overall I would say it is a very nice and inviting hotel where the staff is attentive to your needs. I would recommend it for your next vacation.

I'd prefer not to write this review but feel that I must. My wife and I were scheduled to visit The Island House (TIH) in late March 2025. The week before our trip (literally days before we were to leave), my wife (who is pregnant) broke her ankle badly which required next-day surgery. This trip to the Bahamas was supposed to be our "Babymoon" before our due date in June. The next day during her surgery, I sat in the hospital dialing my credit card's travel department (booked through Capital One Travel). Though they were helpful in understanding our situation and attempting to reach out to TIH, nobody at TIH responded. For a week, I waited to hear a response only to get an e-mail from "******* Partner Solutions" that the hotel had declined any kind of trip credit (even a partial one, which I would have been happy with) for a future stay. Yes, the booking was made under a "nonrefundable" rate, but in this case, I would have expected a modicum of understanding and a discussion about a time-limited trip credit - after all, there would undoubtedly be more revenue coming to the hotel during a future stay (e.g., resort fees, food & beverage, spa, etc.). I reached out to TIH directly (Bahamas phone # and e-mail) to no avail. Nobody picked up the phone, and the only response to an e-mail I received (from "Kera Rolle") told me to go back to ******* to discuss a trip credit. That went nowhere, even when I left my phone number to both ******* and Kera to please reach out to me. Capital One has confirmed that the money was paid out to TIH and has a record of reaching out to them repeatedly with no success in brokering any kind of deal. The Island House has not been responsive to any further inquiry I have made to get any kind of travel credit. For a resort that is touted to be one of the best boutique properties in the Bahamas focused on traveler experience, I'm surprised that they've taken my money (nearly $3000) for a trip that never happened, with no willingness to cooperate on a future trip. It's bad customer service and bad policy during a medical emergency, regardless of the nonrefundable terms of the transaction. Let my experience serve as a warning to other travelers in case you have an unanticipated mishap that requires a change in your trip plans - The Island House will take your money and run! I hope the owners enjoyed this instance of pure profit at my expense. I seriously hate that I had to write about this horrible experience, but I felt that it was important to share.

Great week in the Bahamas! From the friendliness of the staff to the beautiful grounds, the Island House did not disappoint. Will definitely return.
