My Blue Hotel Zanzibar

The hotel is a disappointment for being classified as a 4 star hotel, more like a 2 star. The hotel entrance gives a worn, shabby impression. The facility would need a major total renovation. White paint is smeared everywhere even where it should not be white. Unprofessional, looks miserable. At the pool area there is broken wooden decking, loose boards, broken tables, sun loungers etc. The bathrooms in the rooms and at the reception are in very poor condition, rust, mold etc. the towels are stained and broken The food is beyond criticism, too poor kitchen equipment to be able to maintain good food. The cold food such as cheese, ham is served melted on old wooden plates that have been standing in the heat without refrigeration, the All-inclusive package is very simple The hotel only has one dining room where a spartan buffet with similar dishes is served day after day. If you want something else from the menu, it costs extra Separate drink menu for all-inclusive guests with worse options. The ice is stored in old dirty coolers that have been standing in the heat on the bar counter. We have traveled several times to Zanzibar and stayed at different hotels with all-inclusive, but have never been as sick to our stomach as during this hotel stay. The sunbeds on the beach cost extra. Wifi does not work well in the hotel room It is sad that the hotel management has a sneaky policy throughout Most of the staff had a nice attitude and did the best they could given the conditions The location is good, with a nice beach and close to the center, it is just a shame that the hotel has such a low standard. Cannot recommend this hotel which is both expensive and bad

Fiendly staff and beach location are the only good points. Rooms are old with rusty, broken bathrooms. AC barely works, fridges leak and make loud noise. Gym is rusted, broken ping-pong table …. Photos and reviews are misleading. Overpriced, and they overcharge your bill. You’ll find much better in Nungwi for half the price.

Plug sockets in room are all for Italy eu plugs due to owner being Italian. We have plug socket adaptors for Zanzibar. Unable to charge our devices. Reception doesn't have any adapters. Shops near by none either. Very disappointed
