Amazing… genuinely amazing. This resort is like none other. I would be very surprised if the eastern seaboard has another undiscovered 12000 acre property that could rival The Primland.

We had a wonderful stay at Primland. The property is gorgeous, the atmosphere peaceful, and the service exceptional. Our accommodations were beautifully designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a relaxing retreat. One of the highlights was the observatory experience; it was fascinating, thoughtfully guided, and truly unforgettable. We enjoyed our time so much that we’ve already booked a return visit. Highly recommend this special place.

The reservation process and concierge team follow up is easy and informative. The check in process is friendly and helpful from the valet to the front desk including a choice of arrival beverage. The Lodge King room was clean and well stocked with excellent mountain views. The hospitality staff goes out of their way to make your experience delightful, e.g., the service in the great hall enjoying cocktails by the fireplaces, the smores by the firepit, the facility tour by the valet upon arrival, etc.. Dining was very good with freshly made meals to service to bartenders. We played golf at The Highlands course which is very challenging, but has awesome mountain / Dan River gorge views. The golf staff are very informative and helpful. We plan to go back for the Holidays!

An amazing experience. The views from our room was beautiful. Every single staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. A very welcoming friendly atmosphere. There were many of our favorite activities to choose from.

What an amazing getaway for me and my wife. We wanted a first class resort away from it all but with multiple activitites. Primland fit the bill with hiking, golf fly fishing, quail hunting etc.

Simply put, this hotel charges Swiss luxury hotel prices and delivers Holiday Inn service. Their front desk just does not know how to give good customer service. They are absolutely clueless. We had problems with the room so that we had 4 maintenance workers in the bathroom for 3 hours. When I asked the front desk how could I shower before dinner they tried to tell me to go to the golf locker room across the parking lot. Someone else finally cleared it for me to use the spa facilities. And despite significantly increasing their rates during Fall season, they still tack on resort fees and parking. They also revised our bill to add more charges a few days later which we got reversed. It just felt like they were out to charge you for every little thing possible. We wrote a detailed review to the hotel afterwards and heard nothing back. Yes, they did give us a small credit on our room but it did not make up for the issue. The hotel is just not worth what they charge based upon the room and the service.
