Resort & Winery Bosco De Medici

It’s like an oasis within the hustle and bustle of Pompei. Beautiful place, well tended, lovely pool, gardens and restaurant. Breakfast included with our stay was exceptionally good. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Being woken up a crowing rooster and barking dogs somehow added to the experience. Located easy walk from train stations and main historic site.

Great place to stay within walking distance of the centre of Pompei and the Archaeological Park. Very comfortable room, just outside reception area which had a bar and breakfast room (where a lovely buffet breakfast was served) and was next to the large pool. We ate both nights in the adjoining Bosco Di Medici Winery where the food and drink were fantastic (try the very generous wine-tasting!). All staff were very friendly and helpful

We spent 4 nights at the Bosco di Medici resort and it was a really lovely place to stay and one that I would definitely recommend. The rooms are very attractively decorated with pretty tiled floors and have their own inside and outside sitting areas and everything that you could need for a comfortable visit. What made the resort stand out though was the staff and the setting. All of the staff at the resort and the winery were so kind and helpful and definitely keen to ensure you enjoyed your time there, tne service was outstanding. We ate at the winery restaurant every night of our stay and the food, wine and service were excellent, we enjoyed the vegetables which are grown at Bosco di Medici itself and the pasta - they are obviously keen to promote the excellent local food. I would recommend booking one of the lunchtime tasting menus and wine tours, we did this as a last day treat. It was a great opportunity to sample several of their wines (I particularly enjoyed the rose) enjoy some great food - the ancient Pompeian menu was delicious, especially sitting underneath the grapevines, and also see a little more of the winery itself. Bosco di Medici feels quite tranquil, has beautiful gardens and is set apart from the bustle of the town of Pompei but it is only a 15 minute walk to the Pompeii site itself. We were able to go to Pompeii first thing every morning which made getting in much easier and for the first two hours the site was relatively quiet. Although we didn't do this I understand the resort can also organise a guided tour of Pompeii for guests. Our stay was a relaxing break as well as an excellent way to visit Pompeii, particularly if you want to go on more than one occasion.

A beautiful little gated hotel, restaurant and winery. I think this is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in. Such care taken with the rooms and grounds. The pool was a real oasis. Beautifully kept. The staff were quiet and helpful. We were served a wonderful breakfast on our little terrace in front of our room. The facilities aren’t super top end stylish but more than adequate and felt Italian and real. The restaurant was good and service really good. A broader menu would be nice as vegan options limited. Wine delicious!! I didn’t do the wine tour. Location is easy walk to the centre of Pompeii and it’s quiet location worth this walk. The area of Pompeii is a little run down and driving in the vicinity a little scary! I strongly recommend this hotel.

We loved this hotel. It is a small hotel but set in large, well kept grounds with stables and an orchard, you can pick the oranges. There was an outdoor pool but we went in November so didn't use it. You have a good view of Versuvius from the pool. The room we stopped in was modern and very clean. As other reviews have mentioned, you can hear people in the rooms next to you but wasn't really a problem. The bathroom was well equipped with a nice waterfall shower and had a hairdryer. There is A/C and a safe (though we couldn't work out how to use the safe) There is also a kettle and a fridge. There wasn't milk provided in the room so we just asked for some from reception. We had breakfast there each morning, a small buffet style with enough variety that we could try something different each morning. The hotel is located at the end of a quiet side road, it is approx 15 minute walk through a residential area and down a relatively busy road to get to the cathedral area where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and a train station. The walk isn't the most pleasant and the area was quite smoky. The train station was handy and there is a train that will take you to Herculanium or to Naples. You are within walking distance of one of the entrances to the archeological site of Pompeii, this isn't the main entrance but we didn't use a guide so this gate was perfect and took around 25 mins to walk to. The hotel has a restaurant on site, we went there on our final evening and it was excellent. The food was beautiful and bigger portion sizes than we expected. They grow their own grapes there so they have their own wines and do wine tasting experiences. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
