This beautiful restored house was the perfect place to stay while visiting the lovely old town of Richmond. On arrival, we were greeted with a glass of Pooley Matilda Sparkling Wine and had a seamless check-in to a ground floor courtyard king room, which was very spacious and comfortable, with everything you needed supplied. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and made us feel right at home. We had a tour of the original old house, complete with a convict cellar. The grounds were beautiful and it reminded us of an English country garden. Lisa and David went out of their way to make us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble for them. We highly recommend experiencing this lovely property.

A very comfortable stay in an historic property with lovely grounds very close to Richmond. It is family owned and feels very intimate; like staying in someone’s home. Dinner was delicious, accompanied by wine for the family winery across the road.

Beautiful house in lovely grounds and a very welcoming team (thank you again to Imogen!) Complimentary wine tasting literally over the road at Pooley Winery (friendly team there too!). Good comfortable and functional room. Excellent dinner and an early breakfast provided for an early departure.

Buscombes restaurant is superb. A limited menu catering to seasonal tastes. With a wine list that is well matched to the menu. I can highly recommend the venison & charred hanger steak. Compliments to chef James and the rest of the staff. A little on the expensive side but you have to live a little sometimes.

Prospect House was a beautiful, comfortable and fascinating place to stay. The room was superbly comfortable, with heated floors in the bathroom. The gardens are delightful, we did the wine tasting at Pooley Wines and enjoyed the breakfast which is served in the lovely country kitchen. The tour of the house to understand the history was interesting and added to the stay. We missed having dinner in the house so will be back, highly recommend. It is an easy walk to Richmond from Prospect House, and I would recommend walking to town once all the tourists leave for the day.

We took our wine tour group here for lunch while visiting Tasmania. WOW! Pooley wines, great. Then down the road to the original home built by the Pooley family in the 1800's. We got to stroll through the gardens and also see the rooms for their B & B. Then lunch. James their chef is exceptional. The food was spectacular. Pairing more of the Pooley wines made it a perfect afternoon. I highly recommend Buscombe's ... and that comes from a foodie who owns a fine dining restaurant!

Prospect House is a little nugget in the Coal River Valley region. Comfortable accommodation and good food. Our expectations were met, particularly given we enjoyed the off peak two night stay package.

Spent only one night here but will definitely be back! Stunningly gorgeous property with amazing staff who made us feel very special and very welcome. The room was exquisite and very comfortable, oozing copious amounts of old world charm. Dinner that evening in the restaurant was sublime! The food was ridiculously good matched by a wonderful wine selection. The next morning breakfast was simple but very tasty and staff took us on a fascinating tour of the house - even down into the “Convict Cellar”! Will definitely be returning here!
