I had a great six day stay at the Delta Marriott. The location is very good, close to the downtown and the river. I had a large room with a view of the river. The staff are really great.

This was my worst Marriott Bonvoy experience as a Platinum member. The check in process was not convenient and delayed with no welcome gift. The pantry was/is closed and was offered a complimentary breakfast that was leftovers because nothing was replenished. I asked for the breakfast menu and my request was rejected and no options provided. No silverware, had to track down staff that was ,standing around, for water and OJ. No urgency or customer service. It's horrible that Delta is associated with Marriott Bonvoy b/c the this place is totally opposite of the standards.

Great hotel in a central location in Downtown Richmond. The hotel is a reliable Marriott, good sized rooms, very clean and with all the usual amenities. In the normal course of events it would have got a 3 out of 5. Downsides were the bed which was far too soft and the air con which was not terribly efficient. Two things, however made it stand out as exceptional. The first was a cool evening in the bar playing Music Bingo, all great fun hosted by a really friendly couple (sorry, I didn’t catch their names). The other was the free shuttle service, or rather the driver of the free shuttle service! Garry was so great, really friendly and helpful. He even made restaurant suggestions and went out of his way to let us check menus and make reservations. Thank you Garry & team, you made our stay in Richmond at the Delta really memorable!

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. We enjoy the cleanliness of the hotel and room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was spacious, clean and water pressure was good. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Easy to walk or Uber to lots of restaurants, bars and attractions. The pool and hot tub were clean and towels well stocked. The temperature of the water was a bit uncomfortable though. The pool was a little too cold and the hot tub too hot to really enjoy for long at all. We had a room near the elevator and could hear people talking clearly from the bed. If we come back to Richmond we would request a room away from the elevators.

Ducked in to avoid the rain and get a drink at the bar - apparently a lot of people had the same idea and the bartender was quickly overwhelmed. The front desk do nothing to help despite it being slow and three desk clerks on duty.

What I didn’t like was the noise from the next room I couldn’t sleep.
