SO/ Sotogrande Spa and Golf Resort Hotel

Absolutely loved the hotel. It has a fantastic position on the hill looking down to the Med, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Thanks to Emiliana, Sandra, Paco and Manuel in the restaurant at breakfast. An even BIGGER thanks to Maria, Rosa and Mariella at the kids club. The shining stars of the whole resort. Why 4 out of 5? I’m not sure this can ever be a 5, because it can’t ever be what it should be. It’s serving too many masters. The confusion and mistakes during service are consistent. I looked back 6 months at other reports, and other reviews say the same thing. So they know, but won’t change. Example: I order 2 coffees and wait 15 mins, and only 1 shows up. So i order the second(again) and wait 10 minutes. I’ve now waited 25 mins for a coffee at breakfast. The reason is clearly 1 person making coffee for hotel guests and golfers. That doesn’t work when you’re paying $800 a night. At night I go the restaurant, and am told they’ve just sold out of several things. It’s 730pm, and they have 3 tables in. It’s peak season and you can’t work out how many tunas and chickens you’re gonna need? After a few of these incidents and wrong bills, we decided to not eat at the restaurants. It was the right choice, several restaurants in the area were sublime. Cancha II, La Quinta and Ke all served incredible food with excellent service. The most bizarre thing also took place. Over 36 hours I was told 5 times a cot would be put into the room for my child. It never happened. We gave up in the end. I get it being forgotten once, but 5 times, and 3 of those conversations with the same guy on reception…that’s just bad. The pools are amazing. They really work for both adults and kids. Thanks to Jennifer in the gym too, which is perfectly fine for a hotel gym. It does get busy in the morning. Classes were varied, and well instructed. The spa is also beautiful with a steam room, sauna and cold-ish plunge. Great holiday, but not a 5 star experience. There are lots of repeat guests around the kids pool, and I only went because a friend of mine has been 6 times! Dale S/O Sotogrande! Be a 5 out of 5!

Excellent service and stay - friendly, efficient, everything extremely high quality from food to room to facilities.

It is a very nice hotel, beautiful grounds, excellent rooms, very comfortable beds. The SoCiety restaurant has a fantastic a la carte restaurant and the staff is outstanding. the lunch at the same restaurant is also very good! The wellness area is fantastic, and kids are allowed from 10 am to 1pm every day. Very nice hot and cold pools, jacuzzi, saunas and so on. The gym is big and very well equipped. Tenniscourts also very nice and the golfclub La Reserva.

Came here with some friends for a short golf trip. This hotel is very open and has beautiful views. The rooms are very large and spacious and a very nice gym and spa facility. A few golf courses are close by and a short drive to the waterfront. Good dining within the hotel. Overall a very pleasant stay.

well the hotel looked very nice but its sadly a front only the staff wear hawaiin shirts and laugh and joke together maybe a bit less of that and more help please........ they took 1000 EUROS off my bank card to cover any signed for drinks etc and after the bill after 5 days off 180 euros the other 820 should be in my account yet after 9 days its not they also have a taxi cartel where you use theres about double the price or nothing you cant phone your own....... breakfast was truly terrible no buffet for your essentials yet 10 staff running around doing?? just dont know when you ask for coffee they say i will send my colleague over i will send my colleague over AND i will send my colleague over eventually the first two days we got coffee after 20 mins then if you order food it comes all together 2/3 courses at once?? rooms were very nice and well cleaned thats a plus except my friend a lady on her own had a broken back door for three nights and was very upset as was told it would be repaired........... so 5 star sadly no more 4 star and more interested in the golfers staying or chatting amongst each other a def club atmosphere in reception where the staff seem to be having a great time maybe they should be taught to help the guests......

I recently spent a few days at SO / Sotogrande and couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The facilities and services exceeded my expectations, and every detail was perfectly taken care of. However, what truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding treatment I received from all the staff members. From reception to housekeeping and the restaurant team, everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely attentive. Their warmth and dedication made me feel completely at home.
