A wonderful property and location, excellent food and service. Very convenient for the ferry. Shame about the rain, we would have loved to see more of the village.

First off, this Parador is top notch. Truly excellent in every way. Nevertheless the streets of Santillana Del Mar are so thick and treacherously paved with cobblestones that it is quite difficult to walk around the town. The parking lot is also a treacherous drive down a narrow passageway. I only mention this because while the parador is truly stunning and I highly recommend visiting, it’s not that fun to limp around town, especially if you have the slightest imbalance issues.

One of the Best Paradores we have stayed in. The location in the town is very central, close to shops, restaurants and bars. The historic aspect of the Parador generates a warm and friendly atmosphere.

My wife/I stayed here for 2 nights on a touring vacation in northern Spain. The hotel is a typical parador - a magnificent old building, well refurbished and well maintained. Everything worked as it should. The location is perfect - directly on the main square. The staff were discrete, but always friendly and helpful. Parking was easy, at €10,50 per night in the hotel car park. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast with a northen spanish twist, which means a good selection of nice foods. My only very minor disappointment was the bar. The drinks/bar food was fine. But the bar lacked ambience - upright seats at tables (dining room style) with over bright lighting. We did not feel like lingering here. But this is a minor quibble, the overall experience was very good.

We started to stay in Paradores over 15 years ago. I can see the decline in services and attention to basic maintenance. But what irritate me the most is the lack of “ramps” for movilizó impaired customers and even for those heavy wheeled travel bags. Still the staff is very attentive. The common areas are very clean.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is housed in a beautifully preserved 17th-century building. The attention to detail in maintaining the historic charm is evident, with tasteful decor and stunning old furniture pieces that add to the ambiance. Despite being located in the heart of town, in an area with restricted car access, the hotel offers the convenience of its own parking space. We were lucky to stay in room 205, which was not only incredibly spacious but also had its own private veranda. The outdoor space was beautifully furnished with a table for four and two sunbeds, perfect for relaxing. One evening, we decided to order room service and enjoyed a delicious spread of local cheeses and embutidos, all paired with a chilled bottle of rosé wine. It was a perfect way to unwind and savor the ambiance of this charming hotel.
