Oia Mare Villas

We looked at a lot of different hotels when making plans to visit Santorini and decided to stay at Oia Mare Villas after a friend’s recommendation. This stay on the caldera was such a unique experience for us. We arranged for transport from the port with the hotel. They dropped us off a short walk from the hotel as the taxi obviously can’t take you all the way there. We were met by someone from the hotel who put our bags on a cart and guided us to the lobby and then took the bags to our room, which an amazing feat. The staff at the hotel desk were friendly and explained everything we needed to know and made some dining recommendations. We got to our room and it was very clean and the air conditioning worked great which we appreciated over our stay. We had a small outside area with a couple chairs and a table with umbrella with a great view of the caldera. The hotel was in a great location to the main shopping area and other restaurants including a winding walk to Ammoudi Bay. It took us a few tries to learn our way along the winding path with many many steps to get up to the main street. If you have mobility issues, it might be tough to maneuver. We are around 60 and it was a little challenging at times but we managed. They have a small pool area with a place to sit or lay out if you like. Breakfast was included with the room rate and was ok. Definitely a unique experience.

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2017 and were so excited to return. The hotel is located on the side of the caldera just steps away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Oia, but because of its location, as soon as you turn the corner of the caldera, it is quiet and peaceful even when downtown is absolutely mobbed. The rooms are spacious and lovely. The pool is stunning and one of the few that is that size, and also has a grotto so you can get out of the sun, and also has a stunning view of the sea, the Byzantine Steps and some gorgeous ruins. The proximity to Ammoudi Bay is another added bonus as some of our favorite lunch spots are down there. The entire island comes to the top of the caldera to watch the sunset, and as guests of the hotel, you have a prime view from the pool, the rooftop, or your private hot tub. The staff are also absolutely lovely and accommodating. If you are looking for a gorgeous, beautifully maintained relaxing hotel, look no further and book this one. Our favorite room is Superior Cave Suite 216.

Beautiful breath taking place. Perched on the side of a mountain yet somehow close to every thing with exceptional service and amenities. Allah and Bella at the front desk are so helpful arranging everything. Big smiles. Very helpful and attentive. George in the kitchen - unbelievably engaging - and wanting to ensure your trip is perfect. I rarely if ever leave reviews but this team and setting is exceptional. A must stay!

NOT A GREAT TIME... Too busy. Too many stairs. The staff late at night is not knowledgeable. This hotel is only good if you are an influencer looking to make cash. We left early despite them refusing to refund us. We lost over $1000 but it was worth it to leave. They are not a vacation spot. They are a vapid place for photos. Additionally, in some reviews people mention credit card fraud. They replied that they put in procedures to stop it, but they literally had me hand write my number in a sheet of paper. No clue where that paper went. No assurances. Nothing posted about Visa / MC requirements. Our vacation got way better when we left. We got a VRBO near Akrotiri with nearly the same beautiful views.....

Oiamare Villas was a lovely hotel. One thing l did not enjoy was seeing a local resident’s property amidst our room that was unkempt. The place was dirty and the person living there was walking around in his undergarments when we passed by., i asked to be moved and was offered a room of “lesser” value, not an upgrade. For a hotel of this stature l was disappointed. I asked again the next day and never heard back from them.
