On the outside, the Adelphi looks spectacular. But inside, it’s one of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. This hotel cost us over $900 per night during racing season in Saratoga. I was not worth even a third of that. I have never experienced a bed as awful as the one in the new Adelphi. It is extremely soft and has no edges. It slopes down at the sides. The effect is like trying to sleep on a marshmallow. Sleep was close to impossible anyway, because the AC sounds like a beeping car alarm. We had to turn it off to get any sleep, and it was hot when we were there, so this was uncomfortable. Our room 408 was tiny. It has one miniscule closet with no room to hang a dress; we had to drape one over the bathtub. The Toto toilet is not just ridiculous; it is smelly. There is an obvious plumbing issue. Our guess is that the plumber can’t get to the old lines. The shower curtain was brown and moldy on the bottom. The shampoo and conditioner bottles didn’t dispense properly. Apparently, bar soap is rationed; we never got a refill even though it was obvious we used it at the sink and in the shower many times. At reception, the young man was clueless about where I could park long term (e.g. 24 hours a day for three days). We noted that other hotels had added parking in reaction to new parking restrictions in Saratoga. But not the Adelphi! When I went to get coffee to take up to the porch off the library for my morning reading on Saturday, the coffeemaker was broken and there was no cream in the pot. The library porch was cordoned off by drapes and shades that would not move when I tried the buttons. There was ONE piece of paper in the big stationery box. The décor in our room and indeed the entire hotel interior is tacky and wholly inappropriate to this grand old hotel. The layout feels cramped, except when you get to the new back section, apparently designed for wedding and loud music, which feels like a desert. When we went to check out, I was handed the manager's card. There is a typo in the e-mail address. Why was I not surprised? After sending a letter to the manager, I was promised a discount. This never came through.

Would give higher rating, but "spa" falsely advertised. Beautiful hotel room and professional staff. But "spa" is not a spa. I booked a massage and found out it was with a small massage place that rents space in the Adelphi Residences building adjacent to the hotel. Small storefront outside and round the corner from the hotel. I was then lead back into the Adelphi Residences, not the hotel, upstairs to a small room for my massage. No spa experience. No robes, slippers, nice waiting room. Just a tiny room. It felt like it was just thrown together by nice but inexperienced people. Had Adelphi Hotel been honest that they in fact DO NOT HAVE A SPA but you can book a massage with a company that rents space that would be better.....Massage was fine. But not up to the standards I would think the Adelphi Hotel should hold for itself. I think cut ties or build your own actual spa.

I booked a room for Adelphi Nov 2024 for Friday August 22nd, 2025, and Saturday August 23rd, 2025, with my 12-year-old for Travers Weekend. Somehow the reservation only booked for one night on Sunday August 24th. So, I arrived on Friday for my Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd room reservations, and I learned I had no room and there was a booking error. Admittedly this my home been my fault while trying to key in dates off the Adelphi website they may have kicked me into *******. The lady behind counter said under the circumstances I would be able to cancel my Sunday reservation since I was only there Friday and Saturday and not Sunday. I then asked her/front desk employee if they had any rooms available and she said no they were fully booked. She did then mention they had a one bed condo and pull-out bed that is not actually owned by the hotel available. The condo was $2,000 plus taxes per night so that's well over $4,000 for two nights. This was more than I wanted to spend on my annual father son trip to Saratoga. So, I said I declined. So, I called Amex in a panic to find a room, and they found me a room at the Hilton for the weekend. On my way home Sunday 24th I called hotel to make sure they room was cancelled as promised and their reply was no. They told me they had made the call of "NO" because I didn't take their offer on a condo they didn't own, they were not letting me cancel as promised for my Sunday night reservation. The cost was $1,262.83 for the night. They also feel back on I needed to cancel 14 days in advance. Of course, had I known about the booking error I would have cancelled months ago in 2024. They also charged me the room cost a year ago, so they had the money well in advance. Yes, I understand there was a booking error, but all was done in good faith, and I arrived Friday expecting a room. "Laura" in Management and the hotel higher ups could have made the decision to cut me a break and help me on this honest error. To show some grace by accommodating my 12-year son and I but they choose to "stick it to me". Now in the past I've stayed at the Adelphi, my father stayed there in 1950 and learned how to shave, and my grandparents going back the 1930'. Most recently since the place has opened as has my brother, and even, renting suites like the Polaris. The place is very nice, my son loves it, and he learned to play chess with me on the balcony, and we created some nice memories there and we were so excited to stay there last weekend. Unfortunately, now the image of what I believe of a High-End Customer Driven experience has been sullied by their actions. I now have the image of the Adelphi being into a "cheap money grab" management style. As someone running a family company in business for over 110 years working with your customers is critical for long term success. So, I say this loudly-Shame on the hotel to play 'small ball". I live within driving distance, and I have always spoken well of the place and encouraged others in

This hotel is great. The rooms are all brand new and the bathrooms are so nice! I did not get an opportunity to make an appointment at the spa but it looked nice. The fitness center is so new that it isn't completely finished. I was still able to use almost all of the equipment but the sauna was not completed. We had one work event dinner at the hotel and the food was quite good, but our group was so large that we had a family style and fixed item menu. We called an uber to take us to the race track but it isn't that far if you wanted to walk (we were dressed up). There is also great shopping nearby and the hotel bar is very nice.

2nd year in a row - over $2000 a night and can’t sleep because of the music and noise from the places next door. All hotel can say is sorry. Awful. Mgt say all the rooms with double beds are on the loud side of the hotel. Sorry. Really? Never again. Clean and quiet is not too much to ask for $4600 for 2 days.

Hotel sta
The food was a 3 out of 10 the hotel front desk could have been more helpful and accommodating to our needs. The restaurant told us that we had 1hr to eat someone else was coming to our table. We change rooms because the handle didn’t work not happy. They could have offered a room upgrade. Or something. I spent an hour trying to figure it out.
