The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach

They do not have a generator which is shocking for a luxury hotel in Florida where airconditioning is needed. When it rains, the overhead covering by the pool leaks so you get wet, there is a VERY small pool for adults- as in the kind one has in one’s backyard, that small. The family/children’s pool is across the street. Parking is a bit of a hassle although they do have valet. The staff is lovely. The rooms are nice. It is very crowded however now that its sister hotel, Ponte Vedra Inn is under huge construction. All of the people staying at the other hotel are bussed (van, shuttle) into the Lodge which makes it quite crowded and will be this way for the next year.

The food is delicious, every meal. The staff is eager to serve. I forgot what a great travel experience feels like until i went back to the Lodge. Cannot wait to plan our next getaway. Truly a wondeful experience.

We stayed for a few nights in June and really enjoyed our stay. However, this was a mixed bag in our opinion. Firstly the good; fantastic location, beautiful views and comfortable room. The housekeeping was fantastic, indeed all of the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The issues here were, in our opinion, at a higher level of management; the rooms were looking a little tired and dated and clearly had not had furniture or fixture replacements for quite some time; but the one which really jarred for us was the rather old fashioned attitude to dining in the restaurant, which was only allowed if you were wearing the right attire; ie no shorts in the restaurant. My husband was wearing smart chino style shorts which were deemed unacceptable which is a shame as he did look smart. We dined in the bar on our first evening and were shocked when the bill arrived. It was our one and only meal on site!!! Which leads me to the other thing which wasn't great, which was the lack of value for money. This place cost $800 per night, and this was only for the room -any food was extra, parking was extra, loungers, parasols etc for the beach were extra etc etc.....we didn't feel that this was good value and therefore we only walked on the beach and we dined elsewhere in the evenings. Our final bill for 4 nights was almost $4,000 - NOT great value for money.

We loved every minute of our stay at the Lodge and Club. I cannot say enough about the terrific service, the lovely room, the views, the beach, the FOOD! It was exactly what we needed for a long weekend. The location is fantastic too - just a hidden gem on a residential (upper class) part of Ponte Vedra Blvd. I especially want to point out how terrific the service was - everyone made us feel so special. We will be back!

Luxury at its finest. We will absolutely return. Friendly staff and absolute class establishment. Could not have been happier with this resort.

Loved our stay, my sixth at this property. JR the waiter at breakfast at the Inn, was delightful!Cant wait to come back!
