The best hotel you can book. Everything is perfect from check in to the check out. Staff is professional, rooms are clean, lots of choices of good food , amazing beach and clean swimming pools. Special thanks to people from security department. They deserve 5 stars handling the problems our drunk son caused. We apologize for that and really sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you all good people from Mexico and hope to come one day again.

This was our first time staying at a Barceló property and we loved every minute of it. The resort grounds were very clean, as were the rooms. The buffet for breakfast and lunch had variety. The specialty restaurants were good.but not our favorite compared to other resort chains. The beach is beautiful, a bit shelly but nothing horrible. No problem getting chairs at the pools. All in all we had a fantastic time.

From the moment we arrived at Barceló Maya Colonial, we felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient—nothing was too much trouble. Their warm smiles and helpfulness really made our stay special. The food was outstanding! Every meal offered an amazing variety, from fresh local dishes to international favourites, and everything was bursting with flavour. The buffet was excellent, and the à la carte restaurants were an absolute treat. Entertainment was great fun, with something for everyone—lively evening shows, music, and activities during the day if you wanted them, but also plenty of space to just relax. And the beach… absolutely dreamy. Soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and enough loungers for everyone. It’s the kind of place you picture when you think of a tropical escape. We left feeling relaxed, happy, and already planning our return. If you’re looking for a mix of luxury, fun, and pure Caribbean beauty, this is the place.

This resort was my second all-inclusive resort during our holiday in Mexico. I was super happy with the resort. At night, we enjoyed the animation team performance. They have several restaurants to book for dinner, but buffet restaurant was always open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 1. Food I did not have many complaints about the buffet restaurant. It has a great variety in food. I am not a picky eater. The fruits were fresh and tasty. 2. Room The room was outdated, but it was still ok for us. We have everything inside our room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom is also spacious. The hot water and amenities were there for us. 3. Swimming pool The swimming pool was amazingly clean and also huge in size. 4. Beach The beach was super amazing. The water, the wind, and the sun were perfect! I loved it so much.

My partner and I stayed here recently, over all the resort was excellent. The only issues we had were air conditioning was always on so temperature of the room could not be controlled properly. We also had some issues with sewer gases coming up through the shower drains causing an odor in the bathroom.

Very clean resort. Staff were very helpful and happy. Always saying hello! Beach was great, plenty of palm trees for shade, or open sandy areas for suntanning. Bring good water shoes. You can use it without water shoes, but you need to be careful where you step. The currents change the location of the sand day to day. Food was good, when you sit down for a meal, order drinks and then salt and pepper as well (unless you like bland food). They are always trying to feed you alcohol! But, they make great non-alcoholic drinks as well. The pools are great. The bars can get busy during late morning and early afternoon, you need to be patient for your drinks. Bring some good walking shoes, this resort is big! We never took the shuttles and always hit at least 10,000 steps a day.

This was the worst experience at a resort I have ever had. Staff was very rude and unprofessional. Our room was changed even after we called ahead of time for booking and paid extra for the upgraded room to make sure it wouldn’t happen. Instead when we arrived we were told all of us would need to squeeze in one room, and when we asked what could be done to fix this mess up they told us that they are not willing to do anything and it was our fault for booking there hotel because they will not guarantee any room and they can change it whenever they want. The entertainment team was great tho. But for the rest of the staff very rude and unprofessional. Food was honestly the worst food I have ever had minus the Japanese and steak out were good but otherwise I would recommend going to absolutely any other resort as this was a horrible experience. Our sheets in our room were stained and the first night they were covered in dirt and there was an ear plug in between our pillows. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

Even though we booked Colonial, we got moved to Barcelo Maya Beach without our consent and we only found out about it during check-in. We have kids so being at Colonial was really important to us. We explained that to the staff at front desk but they weren't willing to help and get us a room at Colonial. They also told us that both Hotel sections are the same which turns out not to be true as we found out the quality of food, room and even the shows were less at the Beach. As a result, we had to walk each day to Colonial with the kids to enjoy the services offered by Colonial. Something that would have been avoided if they wouldn't change guests' reservations without their consent.
