Joia Paraíso by Iberostar

It was a girlfriends trip ! Thr four of us two rooms next to each other beach excess with Butler. I was so impressed with all the staff! The waiters in all the fine dining, buffet staff ,chefs.. i give it a 10 overall, especially my butler who went above and beyond Benjamin.!

What an absolutely amazing Resort ! We were comparing it to the Joia Bavaro in Dominican, and I can honestly say this is a step up. The food is better the service is better the smiles are bigger, I would say drink quality is very similar and actually might be lower in the rum category, but not a deal breaker at all. The rooms are bigger we just had a standard room as usual.. the service was impeccable and they also have turn down service at both the Dominican and Mexican resort.. Most of the food was borderline Gourmet quality, it was exceptional !! The pool is salt water which was nice. The pool bar does get very busy and I can only imagine how busy it is in the High season. For this reason I would be reluctant to go back in the High season because there is really only the one bar and unless you order from the waitress I think it would be extremely packed in the pool. When you start getting into the afternoon there is not a lot of shade around the pool area and this is a big negative.. They need to have some kind of an awning or something that comes out from that high up circular pool bar area because the Sun comes in there and it's almost impossible to get away from it while you are in the water. The pool concierge will help you find a good spot and make a bed up for you which is really nice. Ivan was great and he even cleaned our sunglasses for us one day ! The gala night buffet was absolutely spectacular, but I would say we were shocked that the service was so lacking. This was on October 7th the day we arrived. There was only a couple of servers running around serving all the tables we ended up with 4 plates stacked up and only received water and wine service again at the end of our meal which was over 20 minutes from our first service. The meal more than made up for this in our opinion as it was so good ! The entertainment team is spectacular and I would give a special shout out to Julio, Mala, and Cassandra, as they truly went out of their way to try to get you into the games and have some fun. The other people were also amazing ! However I cannot remember all their names. The pool games were fun and enjoyable to play. I would say they were better than other Resorts I have been to and even the pool volleyball was fun they even set up Mexican water polo one day which was a blast !! Some of these games took a little bit of setup and I did notice this and compared to some of the resorts I've been to that they simply bring out a dart board which is very simplistic, this team actually went out of their way to bring out games which took 10 or 15 minutes to get set up and even longer... This to me reflects on the quality of this Resort and the fact that they don't want to just get you doing simplistic games they want to actually have you doing games that feel special..... This was not lost on me whatsoever, and we have rated this Resort as the best resort we have ever been to in our 15 years of Caribbean travels, and over 40 Reso

My husband I and celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Everything about JOIA Paraiso is Five Stars…customer service, concierge, cleanliness, decor, cuisine, beachfront, pools, excursions, calendar of events and shopping. The resort offers transportation to downtown Cancún for souvenir shopping and authentic restaurants. Our ATV/Zip Line/Cenote Jumping and an authentic Mexican lunch excursion was the BEST, which was booked through the Resort. We will definitely make another trip to our favorite Resort JOIA Paraiso Iberostar.

We have just got back from an amazing 2 week holiday. Everything was perfect and 5* service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. It’s the little touches: every member of staff saying hello or asking how your day is every time you walk past. We spent most of our time by the quiet pool and it lived up to its name. There was relaxing music being played and the cabanas and hammocks lovely to sit in. Drinks were on a constantly flow to our cabanas or by the pool. We loved the infused water (different fruits everyday) and the towels and suncream provided. The food: just wow! We had no complaints right from the buffet to each Al a Carte restaurant and room service. Definitely 5* service and high quality meals served. A recognition to Lizeth who hosted us quite a few times at various restaurants, always like many of the other staff greeted us with a big smile and knew our names as soon as we walked up. The spa was very good too, you can come and go as much as you please and you don’t need to book a time slow which we liked. A range of hydrotherapy equipment to use as well as 2 jacuzzis. Infused water was readily available as well as a juice bar and snacks to help yourself to. You will never be bored at this hotel, there are many activities to do from 6.30am sunrise yoga to 7pm spin classes and more sessions in-between. I took park in the 9am yoga class and 11.30am aqua fit classes (these even ranged from aqua kick boxing to aqua pole dancing). A big thank you to Cynthia who held both of these classes along with more everyday with a big smile on her face and positive energy. You were amazing!!! There was always a singer or saxophonist on every evening in the lobby for a few hours then afterwards at 9.30pm a show in the theatre. The drinks were the best we have ever had in an all inclusive. They had everything we possibly wanted and knew how to make every cocktail we asked for- even uncommon ones! We never heard no for an answer all the staff always accommodated every request. I would recommend going to both the lobby bar and rhapsody, we loved them both. Thank you to housekeeping who did a brilliant job. The turndown service was not something we expected but it really does live up to the 5* name and was a lovely added touch. We liked the amenities in the room- beach bag, mosquito repellent, mouthwash etc. This hotel is very sustainable as it has its ‘wave of change’ which I loved especially for an all inclusive hotel. Also we loved walking around the whole of the Iberostar complex and seeing the variety of animals. You will see coatis, peacocks, flamingoes, maybe turtles, capybaras and the list goes on. Finally our flight was delayed by 2 days and the hotel helped us a lot. They were amazing when our travel company weren’t giving much information the staff at JOIA kept telling us to relax and enjoy the extra days we had as they were sorting it out for us and they did.
