The Postcard Cuelim, Goa

Much praise has been heaped on this hotel. I will not detain you with further comments except to say it is OUTSTANDING in every spect.

We loved the Postcard Cuelim. Set in the most magnificent old colonial mansion full of beautiful antiques and character. Service was impeccable. We loved the food - some of the best we’ve enjoyed in Goa and towards the end of the holiday we appreciated the variety of dishes with both Indian and Portuguese influence. The hotel arranged a driver to take us to Panjim so we could visit the Fontainhus area and Old Goa. He was incredibly professional and ensured that he knew where to pick us up, liaising so well with our walking tour organiser. We also loved the sunset sundowners at Utorda beach a few kilometres away. Also enjoyed time by the beautiful pool set in the gardens. Thank you to the team. This was our third Postcard hotel of the holiday (Saligao and Netravali) and we loved them all. They are all so unique but with an overarching dedication to quality service.

Our holiday at the Postcard hotels started with 5 days at the 5 bedroom Portuguese house in Saligao, which was the best experience. We then moved on to a 9 day stay at the Postcard Cuelim where we met one of the managers - Sahaj. He gave us a great tour around this beautifully restored 6 bedroom home. This is a wonderful hotel in beautiful grounds in a spectacular area. We walked every morning for 3 hours and got to know the area pretty well and the little villages that surround the area. The beach is a quiet 20 minute walk and is deserted and stretches for miles, water is like a warm bath - been absolutely years since we enjoyed a beach like this. The key to us having such a great time is the team that run this hotel. They are amazing, couldn’t have done any more for us and really made us feel at home. Would like to mention, as well as Sahaj, are Som - one of the managers, Vishal, Harri and the amazingly talented chef who prepared fabulous meals for us - we ate in every night as the food is so good. Thanks Sahaj for recommending and organising our trip down to the Postcard Hideaway which was not part of our itinerary. We loved our 3 days there and missed it when we left to return to the Postcard Cuelim, but when we got there the greeting was amazing and really felt like we were home! Our last night at Cuelim was a surprise meal for our anniversary celebration - served on the balcony. We were blown away by the effort that was put into this evening by the team - thank you all so much for making it so special. We miss you and will see you next year!!!

Postcard Cuelim in Goa was one of the most magical and special hotel experiences of our lives. The residence felt like our own private Portuguese palace but the difference was really the world class service from Pandurang and the Cuelim team! Thank you - Ashton

Being welcomed by Som and the staff gives you immediately the right feeling; this oasis of rest and luxury is amazing. We stayed for 3 nights and didn't regret it at all. Well maintained facilities, such as swimming pool, badminton field and being located close to the beach (20 minutes walk) makes it perfectly suited for a very relaxing journey. On top the food that is being served is really delicious and high end quality. All of this comes always with a smile from every single staff member, whatever you ask, whenever. Fantastic place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

We were so excited when we found The Postcard hotels and the Cuelim absolutely did not disappoint. It delivered exactly what it promised, first class old fashioned luxury. The property is in a perfect location a short distance from the beautiful beaches of southern Goa. It is a historic Portuguese villa that belonged to T B Cunha the Father of Goan nationalism and is still owned by his relatives. Quiet, tastefully decorated and in excellent condition it is a haven of peace and tranquility. Our room was luxurious. Located at the end of one wing it had a sitting room, bedroom, dressing room, bathroom and large cool veranda leading into the gardens. Each morning we spent a blissful hour sitting on the day bed on the veranda immersed in the sights and sounds of Goa waking up, memories we will cherish. The suite of rooms were well appointed and every requirement was thought of. The hotel policy of anytime checkin was excellent, allowing us to access our room at no extra charge as soon as we arrived after our early morning flight. After a restorative rest we were then able to have our anytime breakfast, another hotel policy that is leading the way in meeting guest needs. Putting guests first in this way is unique in our experience and we congratulate The Postcard hotels on being able to offer this. Every meal we had over the three days and nights of our stay was amazing. Perfectly balanced delicious Goan dishes served wherever we wanted to eat them, freshly prepared by the chef who even gave us a cookery lesson on our patio. First Class. All the staff at the Cuelim were simply fantastic. They anticipated our every need and were always on hand without disturbing our privacy. Impeccably dressed, polite, efficient, and friendly - every attribute you would expect from proper old fashioned service. Thank you to Som and Sahaj who managed our stay so perfectly and to the whole Cuelim team, in particular Vishal who was a fountain of knowledge and made sure we had everything we needed. What a team! After the Cuelim we were given a free transfer to The Postcard Netravali in the jungle of the Western Ghats and from there we were taken to The Postcard Velha in Old Goa. We highly recommend spending a few days in each to get a better all round experience of what wonderful Goa has to offer. We can’t wait for our next opportunity to stay at another Postcard hotel.
