Poseidonion Grand Hotel

Location: The hotel is praised for its prime seafront location on the island, offering beautiful views and easy access to local attractions, including beaches.

Such a disappointing stay. We booked in for six nights and left after five. When checking out no one asked why we wanted to leave early which, we thought, summed up our stay. Apart from our lovely housekeeping lady and the lady replenishing the breakfast area the rest of staff were the most inattentive and disengaged individuals I have ever known when staying in a hotel. Everywhere throughout the hotel staff were in huddles, talking or on phones and we felt it a burden to be staying there. The breakfast service was particularly poor- we had to ask for everything and even cleared away our own plates to make room for fresh items on our tables. Three days of the five we weren’t even asked what we would like for breakfast and we just ate from the mediocre continental area. The team were constantly standing around the bar area, with their phones chatting and laughing. Again, waiting on seemed to be a burden with no general care and attention. The evening we ate in the restaurant was no better, the menu had been slimmed down and the food mediocre at best. Yet again, lots of staff who really could not be bothered. For a premium hotel, this level of service is so poor. I understood that it was the end of the season and the locals maybe tired but really there is no excuse. The hotel did raise its game for the heritage cycle event on the Saturday of our stay but, by then, we had had enough. I would suggest that the young, inattentive members of staff (most of which were) experience what it is to work in a high end hotel as this, I feel, let what could be a lovely hotel down. I’ve given two stars for the location and the beautiful room that we stayed in.

Wonderful stay in Spetses! We had a great room with sea view that we enjoyed a lot. The breakfast was excellent too. Location is unparalleled, the best you can have in Spetses. All in all, the vibe of the hotel is very unique and so is the decoration and art all around. We appreciated the concierge services and felt very welcome. We will definitely be back!
