The Mayo Hotel

Needs serious work. Very old. Main area in our room did not have a main light. No light. Literally just the two reading lights over the bed to light the entire room. Like living in a dark cave. Screaming for a lamp or two. Awful. And no outlet on both sides of bed. Renovation = F.

This is a repeat stay for us, my husband and I were in Tulsa to visit our son. We would never ever stay at any other hotel while we are here. This visit merely reinforced that feeling. We checked in on the evening of Thursday October 16 and were greeted by the friendliest front desk clerks who warmly welcomed us and got us promptly checked in. We stayed in a lovely Suite (316) that we will be sure to request on our next visit. The room was immaculate, the bedding exceptional and the room layout with sofa, small dining table and chairs, mini-kitchen were all wonderful. The housekeeping staff is lovely and efficient and we enjoyed the coffee/snack shop with a bar and a Starbucks inside. Special shout out to staff person Mr. W. Scott who chatted with us while we waited for our son to pick us up. He clearly loves the hotel and Tulsa. He gave us some history and some great suggestions for sight seeing. What a great asset he is for our of towners! The hotel had FOUR weddings, a HS reunion and a rehearsal dinner while we were there. One would never know because the service never wavered one bit! I love the workout room, it’s generally empty with lots of options such a steppers, weights and treadmills. Great hotel, obviously we highly recommend!

I feel so disappointed with our experience!! It was supposed to be a celebration of our anniversary a $400 room that was beautiful and had a great view…..but we barely had settled in and didn’t even get our romantic night on the town because we were phoned to come downstairs to talk to valet parking services. We found out the valet had wrecked our truck in the parking garage by hitting a column!!!! Needless to say we were just sickened by this as it was the first night of our two week vacation.We were reassured the general manager Kacey King would take care of everything the next morning We tried to talk to him the next morning and felt we were put off he did call later promising to email the report that was taking along with information on their insurance company to resolve the mater and that we should continue with our vacation as the truck was still drivable and everything on our vacation was on a schedule. This happened on September 5th and here we are back home September 23 rd and still being avoided by The Mayo Hotel and Kacey King. We didn’t get to celebrate our anniversary that night the whole experience was awful and the same valet wrecked another truck that same night I wonder how it has turned out for them.

What a spectacular hotel! The lobby, bar and restaurant are beautiful art deco. The room was very spacious and super clean. Highly recommend The Mayo. Start your Route 66 trip from Tulsa in style.

Historic hotel and beautiful foyer! Grand staircase perfect for photos! Learning the history of the hotel was really interesting. The rooms were very spacious. There is no parking so either have to pay to valet or pay to park and walk. Hotel staff very nice. There’s a cute cafe downstairs as well. No pool.

Nice hotel in downtown Tulsa! We love this hotel and visit yearly. Service is great! The hotel needs a little TLC on a few cosmetic things but we will be back.
