Ambience was really great... Wonderful architecture... Spacious and well maintained rooms. Many room categories gives a wide choice. Big parking area. Food quality is overall good except dinner menu is little bit can be improve. Wide range of varieties in Breakfast menu. Very supportive resort people.

We stayed for one night with our family. The entire place felt like a palace, with beautifully designed rooms showcasing traditional architecture and style. During that time, there was an International Ice Cream Festival with large speakers and loud music, which made it difficult for us to sleep peacefully. We raised a complaint, and they suggested shifting our room to the other side. However, we were not ready to move since we had already settled in and had friends staying nearby in the same lane. So, we eventually decided to adjust and stay in the same room, although we did feel a bit disappointed. Now, coming to the restaurant — it was the worst service we have ever experienced. We ordered chicken biryani and chapati, which took nearly two hours to arrive. Despite the long wait, the food wasn’t even hot when it was finally served. It was extremely disappointing that they took so long just to bring it from the kitchen to our table.

A Royal Retreat at A R Thanga Kottai, Yelagiri My stay at A R Thanga Kottai in Yelagiri was truly a royal experience. The palace and fort-themed hotel transports you to a different era — it felt more like staying in a heritage palace than a hotel. The decor, intricate artwork, and regal ambiance were absolutely mesmerizing. Every corner of the property was beautifully designed with attention to detail. The hospitality was outstanding — the staff treated us like royalty, always courteous and attentive. The rooms were spacious, elegant, and extremely comfortable. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into ensuring guests feel special. This place is not just a stay, it’s an experience — one that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Yelagiri. A perfect blend of tradition, luxury, and warmth.

Poor communication between the staff. On the weekends if you call the room service then you need wait a lot. Drivers have a package for RS 500, where they get Food and Stay. They don’t mention this during checkin, later they will charge you RS 700 per meal. Be sure to ask for this. Each and every activity is extra for example train ride, boating around swimming pool etc. Activity was good but it rained in the evening. Best of all the things is Shower, it was amazing big bathrooms, big rooms nice air conditioning, cleanly maintained swimming pools. ( no towel facilities in the swimming pool, you need to carry from the room). Call housekeeping for more towels. At the checkout time, staff will be behind you for positive review. Sometimes they take your phone and put 5 stars.
