Visiwa Beach Resort

We stayed at Visiwa Hotel in Watamu for three nights, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. The hotel is very cozy, beautifully decorated, and perfectly located right by the beach. Everything was clean and well maintained — from the rooms to the garden and the beach area. We arrived much earlier than the official check-in time, the team made sure we got our room without a long wait. We are truly grateful for that. The garden is lush and well cared for, and the beach is kept tidy. When we arrived, the ocean currents had brought in some seaweed, but the staff cleaned the beach — such thoughtful service! Our room was cleaned daily. Breakfasts were wonderful — fresh, natural fruits and real, freshly squeezed juices (not the diluted kind you often get elsewhere!). For dinner, we ordered the large seafood platter, and it was simply delicious — everything tasted incredibly fresh. The sea-view rooms offer breathtaking views of the ocean. Hotel’s interior design, featuring local artwork, adds a warm and authentic touch. The whole place feels peaceful and personal — perfect for travelers who prefer smaller, more intimate hotels over large, impersonal resorts. A big thank-you to all the Visiwa Hotel staff for their kindness, professionalism, and great service. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day!

Absolutely fantastic hotel in Watamu. Rooms large and clean, with all the necessary facilities for a comfy and relaxed stay. The garden, pool and private beach are stunning, the restaurant serves very good Italian food and the staff super kind and always smiling. It was a last minute booking due to a problem me and my family had with another accommodation, but Gisella and her staff did everything they could to help us and ensure we could enjoy our stay. It was a pleasure to stay at Visiwa and we will be back for sure!

The best property in Watamu. We went everywhere looking for a hotel that offerred a comfortable stay, and Visiwa was the only one that had everything we needed. Beachfront, safe with security staff abound, fantastic ocean views from the room, excellent restaurant, all very clean, powerful hot shower, plenty of room, good amenieties, great trip organizing, fabulous surroundings, and incredible Gisela that never seems to sleep and always found time to make our stay as luxurious as possible!

Beautiful hotel and ambiance. We were very disappointed in the behaviour towards us by the owner. We went there for lunch and have 3 kids, we were immediately told that the kids were not allowed to sit on any of the pool or beach beds and that if they kids wanted to play on the beach they must go away from the property so the guests don't get disturbed. As a hotel and a family restaurant surely you should be kid friendly.

Visiwa is a nice and pretty resort right on the beach with astonishing ocean views rooms and an excellent Italian restaurant which is probably one of the best around here. Service is very personal and accurate. We stayed for 3 nights, but I imagine spend a week without any problems.

Expensive and not consumer friendly during the low season . Better places to stay for n Watamu . Will not recommend to stay as family
