An excellent hotel & highly recommended . We had a fabulous stay at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa at the end of October . It’s a lovely hotel in lovely grounds with super views . All the staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable and memorable . A big thank you to all the team .

just returned, we enjoyed every minute the staff could not do enough for us the food for breakfast lunch and evening meal you would have to dig deep to find fault, will we be returning of course we will well done to all at Woodhall

We’ve been in the UK for 3 weeks now in Ireland, Scotland and England. This is the 12th hotel in which we’ve stayed and it is hands down the best! They do everything right here. The staff here are exceptional from Hannah at reception to the wait staff in the lounge and dining room. It’s a beautiful country house hotel in a lovely part of the country. Our suite was beautifully appointed with all the essentials and a good number of extras as well. There are robes and slippers, tea/coffee making facilities with bottled milk in the fridge, cookies (biscuits), bottled water. The bathroom has face cloths, Kleenex (believe it or not, many hotels don’t have that), big fluffy towels, complimentary razor & shave cream, toothbrush & toothpaste, shower caps, etc. Everything is very clean. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were high quality. We had lunch in the lounge when we arrived and the fish & chips were the best we’ve had since we arrived in the UK (and we’ve had a lot). The batter was crispy and delicious, so yummy! Dinner was likewise excellent. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The server was so friendly and offered us many tips and ideas for what to see on our trip to York. I’m sorry we didn’t get his name. Breakfast was also excellent! A good selection of a la carte items as well as buffet items served in the dining room. Crisp white linens, coffees and tea served at table, hot milk for the coffee, the food arrived piping hot on heated plates, it was all perfect. Our server was so dignified and personable and he also gave us suggestions for our trip to York. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name but he was Irish. We did the woodland walk and it was delightful. The views of the English countryside are wonderful. We’re only sorry that we just booked one night here but if we have the opportunity to come back we’ll stay for a week. This is truly a not to be missed hotel.

We had a nice visit there and had 3 nights . On the second day the jacuzzi was cold . The young attendant made up a story about the button being pressed too often . Nobody available to repair the power which has tripped out . The breakfast was brilliant and the grounds and views lovely . The restaurant has no atmosphere and is overpriced but despite some concerns overall we enjoyed the place. So we sadly recommended it to our daughter . Unfortunately her stay only lasted 2 hours due to her room being unusable . It was a special occasion and this is not the standard expected by Hand picked . We have been regulars at Fawsley hall hotel which is faultless. So we felt with the hand picked name we felt confident to recommend this . They have really let her and her husband down .

Recently spent two nights here. On arrival checked in, left card details on file and shown to our room. Whilst there was no mention at check in of an upgrade I realised we must have been upgraded as we booked an Executive Room (all of which are in the new wing according to the website) and we were definitely in the original building. Now I am perhaps the oddity here as I booked what we wanted, an executive room in the new wing but that’s not what we got, so to me this was a negative and I feel the hotel should consider putting a check box when people are making bookings online asking if they wish to be considered for an upgrade if one is available. The room was tired and in need of some tlc. The location of the hotel is secluded, quite and lends to some nice views and a feeling of country estate. The spa area though petite was clean and appeared well maintained, the therapists were very good. We had dinner one night in the Restaurant and one night in the bar, food is good but not amazing, drinks are ok but not an extensive range of beers and ciders ( actually one cider option!). Breakfast was a pretty standard help yourself to the majority of continental and full English options ( again not our preference and we prefer breakfast plated in the kitchen and brought through to order) there were some items on the menu ( around 6 or so) that were made to order and had to be placed with your server. Majority of staff were pleasant enough but we did notice many cases of staff blindness and a clear lack of teamwork amongst the on duty staff, some could do an about turn very quickly if it looked like they may have to do something and on more than one occasion we heard it’s not my job type of gripes. We had debated trying Wood Hall Hotel & Spa for some time and the Hand Picked hotel group, sadly it did not deliver an experience that we would have hoped for and we won’t probably be trying any further hotels in this group.
