thought that the room though, with automated curtains and provided charging cables and smart TVs, were nice. The bed was very comfy and had extra blankets. Nice raised ceilings. The big problem was that there was a cockroach in our room once we got back later that night. I understand that this is the south of China and cockroaches exist, but I also understand that there are things that the hotel can do ensure these don’t get into our room, on the 12th floor. One being, ensuring the air conditioning works, as our living room AC didn’t really work (set at 16 degrees yet at a constant 27), which makes it nice and warm for bugs. Furthermore, the windows do not seal completely and do not have protective screens, which is probably where this cockroach came from (as it was on our curtains). So, there are a few things that this location can do to combat these bugs but clearly they do not want to invest into these as other reviews have also cited cockroaches. The service here was not fantastic. When we got to the location (precisely at 2pm) we wanted to check in and shower after a long train ride and traveling through the warm weather, however, the room was not ready for us and we were told to wait 30 minutes for it to be cleaned and they will notify us. We ended up waiting 45 minutes and had to ask them ourselves. I understand why the room wasn’t ready, as the check out for our room is 2pm, and the check in for the next group is also 2pm. While the check out time is gracious, they need a better system to ensure that the next group gets what they paid for: a hotel room from the check in time to the check out time. Even if you kept these check in and check out times, there are ways to efficiently manage your bookings and staff to ensure that the room is cleaned with priority and no one has to wait. But, again, that comes down to management. Despite the hotel being called the “international” hotel, the staff did not speak English to me (despite me being the one who booked and paid for the room) and spoke past me and spoke Chinese to my girlfriend (who is Chinese). They didn’t even ask if I can speak Chinese, as I’m a white American (但我懂中文）. My girlfriend mentioned to me that the staff seemed a little rude/inpatient when she spoke with them. While waiting, we helped ourselves to some soup that was in the lobby and the staff gave us some water and fruit while we waited. Again, they spoke to my girlfriend in Chinese and did not attempt to speak to me (nor look at me). My girlfriend speaks English, they could’ve spoke to both of us. On check out, we stored our luggage, which was an easy process. On luggage check out, they gave us some waters while we waited. Again, it just seemed a little backhanded as both times we got some relatively good service, it was also met with a “please provide a good review.” We were compensated free breakfast for waiting, which was nice. The breakfast here is fine, nothing amazing. It is Chinese style, nothing really international about it. Some things were better than others. My girlfriend said that the best part was probably the toast…I did see others mention that the restaurant makes noise in the morning, which is true. For us, the noise was minimal, but due to being on the 12th floor, and the restaurant being on the 13f, you hear noise. We were lucky to be on the other side of where the restaurant was, but still heard some noise. Not much that the hotel can do about this, but a weird design to put a restaurant right above the rooms on the 13th floor. The breakfast hours here are not good, from 7-9:30. Every hotel I’ve ever stayed at has had better hours.

The room was very clean indeed. My wife did satisfy every devices found in the room. The breakfast was good for the low price per day rent of the room. We will visit again if we arrive there again in the future.
