Night Climb of Wugong Mountain on May 24 (Guide Included)

Night Climb of Wugong Mountain on May 24 (Guide Included)

Conquering the small yet mighty Wugong Mountain! ⛰️⛰️⛰️ The weather was perfect today, and there were lots of people. The sunrise and sea of clouds at Wugong Mountain are truly worth it. Here’s my personal experience: 🧩 Gear: Based on others' guides, I packed a windbreaker, water bottle, power bank, snacks, raincoat, flashlight, sunglasses, mask, insect repellent, trash bags, and cash. 👆🏻 However, I found some items unnecessary: Water bottle (I drank a bottle of mineral water on the way up and bought a cup at the top, so I didn’t use my water bottle at all). Flashlight: There are small night lights along the path, and the phone’s flashlight is more than enough (I followed the route, so I didn’t use the flashlight at all). Cash: The signal at the top is good, so I didn’t use cash. ID card (a QR code is enough to enter, so forgetting the ID card is not a problem). Hiking stick: A professional hiking stick might help, but a cheap bamboo stick is unnecessary and heavy. If you need a hiking stick, choose the lightest one. I tried my friend’s for a while, but my arm got sore, and we ended up giving it away. Climbing with hands on the railings is easier, in my opinion, than using a hiking stick. 👌🏻 Must-bring items: 1️⃣ Windbreaker (I wore it after passing the Despair Slope and the last three peaks. At the top, there’s no shelter from the wind, and the windbreaker keeps you warm. However, a thick coat with a raincoat works just as well). 2️⃣ Snacks: Cucumbers! The smell of others eating cucumbers was irresistible. Candy, bread, crackers, and chocolate are also good. 3️⃣ Insect repellent 🌟🌟🌟 At sunrise, all the bugs wake up, which is terrifying for someone afraid of bugs like me. I sprayed insect repellent on my clothes and wore glasses, a mask, and gloves to watch the sunrise comfortably. Everyone borrowed my spray, and I ended up spraying it on everyone around us. 🕒 Timeline: 11:20 PM - Start night climb 11:50 PM - Reach ticket checkpoint 1:55 AM - Start climbing Hero Slope 4:30 AM - Reach the top and start watching the sunrise 5:20 AM - Sunrise 8:30-10:00 AM - Queue for the Golden Summit cable car down 10:50 AM - Reach Zhong’an cable car and queued until 12:00 PM to descend. My friend and I usually work out, so when we got tired climbing, we just took a few minutes to rest without stopping at rest stations for long. #WugongMountainGuide #WugongMountainSeaOfClouds #NightClimbWugongMountain

Perfect Meadows

Always lingering clouds and mist over the grass, took us to Wugong Mount located in 📍 Jiangxi province. Although I ain't a hardcore hiker, I really went on to do this just for the perfect meadows that's spread over the whole area. If only I had some swiss cattles 🐮 I can grow them very healthy here 😝 such is the lush green 💚 grass. The hiking 🥾 path started at Shenzi village, and as a first milestone we set to reach the Golden summit also called as Bai he peak. Then few of us decided to go easy on our body😋 and took the ropeway to Stone drum temple. Have proper rainy clothes and food packed for yourself. #jiangxitravel #hikefreak #summervacation#hikingtrails

When the morning light pierces the clouds, the shock is really beyond words 🌄 - 100,000 mu of alpine meadows: June to September is the all-green period, with green everywhere, which is very similar to Windows wallpaper, and you can take a blockbuster photo with a snap 📷 - Starry Sky Glass Plank Road: Walking on the plank road, there is an abyss under your feet and a vast starry sky above your head. It is recommended to wear a solid color long skirt, which is super photogenic! - Guanyin Dang Camping Base: There will be a bonfire party at night, everyone will sit around, sing and dance, and the atmosphere will be full of fire 🔥 🚗Attraction transportation: Take the high-speed train to "Pingxiang North Station", and then take a carpool after leaving the station. It only costs 35 yuan/person to reach the scenic spot directly, and the journey takes about 1 hour. When you arrive at the scenic spot, buy a ticket + Zhong'an cableway package, which only costs 125 yuan, and there is a discount for student ID cards~ 🗺Itinerary: Day 1: Shigu Temple → Zhong'an Cableway → Zijigong → Diaomazhuang → Starry Sky Plank Road → Jinding Day 2: Jinding → Grassland Boat → Qiusi Altar → Zhong'an Cableway Down the Mountain If you are not in good physical condition, it is recommended to take the cableway for both trips, otherwise you will be really tired 😫 🍱Food recommendation: The price of food in the scenic area will be slightly higher, mineral water is 10 yuan, and self-heating pot is 35 yuan. You can bring some dry food such as instant noodles and bread. The wind is strong on the top of the mountain. Eating a bowl of hot instant noodles will make you feel full of happiness! 💰Cost related: - Transportation: Pingxiang North Station carpool 35 yuan/person - Tickets: Tickets + Zhong'an cableway package 125 yuan (student ID card has discount) - Accommodation: If you have a sufficient budget, you can choose "Jinding Xingman Tent", 368 yuan/night, with independent bathroom and starry sky roof; students can live in ordinary tents, 128 yuan a night, but remember to bring warm babies, the wind is very strong in the early morning. Mount Wugong is a famous mountain in Jiangxi Province, China. It is located in the southeast of Pingxiang City, between 114°10′-114°17′ east longitude and 27°25′-27°35′ north latitude. It belongs to the northern section of the Luoxiao Mountains. Historically, it was known as one of the three famous mountains in Jiangnan, along with Mount Lu and Mount Heng. It is also known as "Hengshou Luwei Wugongzhong" (Hengshan is the head, Lushan is the tail, and Wugong is in the middle). The main peak of Mount Wugong, Baihe Peak (Golden Summit), has an altitude of 1918.3 meters, making it the highest peak in Jiangxi Province. Mount Wugong is famous for its spectacular alpine meadows, unique waterfalls, excellent ecology, peculiar celestial phenomena, and rich cultural landscapes. The scenic area covers an area of 139 square kilometers and consists of four major sections: Golden Summit Scenic Area, Yangshimu Scenic Area, Jiulong Mountain, and Fayun Realm. The geological evolution and geological relics of Mount Wugong have important geological significance and scientific value. They are mainly composed of Archean and Mesozoic strata and Indosinian-Yanshanian igneous rocks. Mount Wugong has a long history and culture, especially in Taoism. Ge Xuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty and Ge Hong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, both famous Taoist figures, came here to refine elixirs. The Taoist temple here has been open since the Three Kingdoms period, for over 1700 years. Buddhism in Mount Wugong began in the Tang Dynasty. Throughout the ages, many literati and poets have come here to write poems and essays, such as Wen Tianxiang, who presented a giant plaque to the "Ge Xian Guan" (Ge Immortal Temple), and Xu Xiake, who left the famous line "A thousand peaks stand like jade hairpins, the five ridges are comparable to Mount Wugong" after climbing Mount Wugong. The natural scenery of Mount Wugong is also very charming, with the reputation of "Heavenly grassland, human paradise, northern scenery, green home". The 100,000-acre meadow stretches on the top of the mountain at an altitude of over 1600 meters. It is green in spring and summer, golden in autumn, and white in winter, with different scenery in each season. For tourists, Mount Wugong offers a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, mountaineering, and camping. Visitors can choose different hiking routes according to their physical strength and experience. For example, they can choose to climb the mountain from Pingxiang, take the cable car up and down, or choose to hike with light luggage and enjoy the scenery on the ridge line. The entrance fee for Mount Wugong is 70 RMB for adults and 50 RMB for students. The Golden Summit cable car costs 35 RMB for the uphill ride and 25 RMB for the downhill ride. The Zhong'an cable car costs 50 RMB for the downhill ride. Children between 1.2 and 1.5 meters tall and seniors over 60 years old receive a half-price discount. Children under 1.2 meters tall, tour guides, seniors over 65 years old, journalists and photographers, members of provincial or higher photography associations, soldiers, disabled persons, residents of Matian Office and Wanlongshan District can enter for free with valid ID. For transportation, visitors can take a bus from Pingxiang Railway Station to Mount Wugong, or choose to take a taxi. There is also a direct tourist bus from Ji'an to Mount Wugong, offering more options. Mount Wugong is not only a paradise for nature lovers, but also a great destination for travelers seeking cultural experiences and historical exploration.
