#Japan Attractions After an interesting approach to the temple, you will arrive at Jindaiji Temple, which has a long history. It is the second most ancient temple in Tokyo after Sensoji Temple. The Sanmon Gate is the oldest existing building in Jindaiji Temple. The core of the temple, the Main Hall, houses a statue of Amitabha Buddha. It was originally burned down in a fire during the Edo period and was later rebuilt during the Taisho period. Lions, dragons and elephants are carved on the beams and pillars, and phoenixes are carved under the windshields, reflecting the architectural features of the Edo period. The Shakado Hall next to the main hall enshrines the Hakuho Buddha, a national treasure of Japan, and there is a fee for visiting. The Gensandaishi Hall houses a statue of Jikedaishi (Gensandaishi) from the Heian period, commemorating his achievements on Mount Hiei. We also saw two of Japan's Seven Lucky Gods, Daikokuten (the god of medicine and wealth who specializes in curing diseases) and Ebisu (the guardian god of the sea), they were so chubby and cute🤣🤣 The various Buddha statues are exquisitely carved and look calm, which is very eye-opening and suitable for worship🤗🤗🤗

#Japan Attractions Jindaiji Temple can be reached by taking the Chofu 34 bus from Chofu Station, getting off at Jindaiji Elementary School-mae and walking for 5 minutes. You can also walk there after visiting Futaten Shrine. In Jindaiji Temple, you can meet various monsters from the Gegege no Kitaro comics and the Yokai Bus 🚌, Gegege no Kitaro, Ghost Eyes Dad, Star Mouse, Granny Sand, Grandpa Wa Wa, Cloth Vanguard, Wall Monster, full of childhood memories There is also a teahouse with a Gegege no Kitaro theme on the main street. The first floor sells simple refreshments, and the second floor is a small exhibition hall with an introduction to the Gegege no Kitaro comics and the author. I visited Kitaro Teahouse and Jindaiji Temple. Kitaro Teahouse was very cute as you can see in the picture. There were a lot of goods for sale, so I recommend that fans visit. There were cute cups and handkerchiefs☺️ Jindaiji Temple has a calm atmosphere, so we walked slowly while chatting and had the famous soba noodles. I went on a day trip to Chofu, which is not too far from Tokyo. It’s hydrangea season, and the flowers are stunning. We visited Jindaiji Temple and the botanical garden, both of which are magnificent and great spots for photography. Although it’s very hot at the time and the transportation to each place is not that easy, Chofu is a lovely city. It is very clean and calm, with a great vibe. A day when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax your mind. The "Jindaiji" area in Chofu is perfect for such a time✨ The historic temple surrounded by greenery and the atmosphere of the temple town are pleasant☺️ 📍The specialty is of course** "Jindaiji Soba"! You can eat at "Aoki-ya" in the garden You can really feel the aroma and firmness of the handmade soba, and eating it outside while feeling the breeze is exceptional🍽️🍃 There are also stylish cafes and sweet shops near the temple, so it's great to relax after a meal. Visit the temple, eat soba, and take a leisurely walk through the forest-like grounds. Visiting in person revealed a magical place where ancient sites, delicious food, and hot springs blend seamlessly into a manga-like setting. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendation: Stay at Toyoko Inn, conveniently located near Chofu Station. While the double rooms aren’t particularly spacious, they can just about fit a 28-inch suitcase. The self-service check-in is user-friendly, and staff are patient in guiding first-time users. Breakfast was a delightful surprise, featuring Chofu’s local specialty buckwheat noodles—a perfect start to an energetic day! 🍜 Culinary Delights in Chofu: Here, buckwheat noodles dominate all three meals of the day! The area around Jindaiji Temple is filled with specialty noodle shops, often bustling with long queues during meal times. I picked a relatively quiet spot at random, and the springy noodles paired with rich broth were a pleasant surprise with every bite! However, beware of the snack in the photo—it’s overly salty and not recommended. 🏯 Breathing in Ancient Serenity: The shaded trees and flowing streams of Jindaiji Temple act as natural healers. I was lucky to catch a special event honoring Gansan Daishi, featuring Japan’s largest statue of the revered figure. Mornings see lines of worshippers, while afternoons are perfect for leisurely strolls and making travel wishes. Nearby, the Jindai Botanical Garden was hosting a rose exhibition, where visitors were immersed in flower appreciation and photography without the usual noisy crowds—a pure and touching floral experience. ♨️ Black Water Hot Spring Adventure: As night fell, I ventured into "Yumori no Sato" to experience the black water hot springs! Though initially confused by the towel rental system (still a mystery to me 🤣), I mustered the courage to complete the full process—from shoe storage and receiving a wristband to dining and soaking in the baths. I even indulged in a massage service! For 6,500 yen, I enjoyed a hot spring with a cola-like hue. Accidentally tasting the salty water added a unique twist to the experience. Every moment in Chofu felt like stepping into a heartwarming slice-of-life anime! Highly recommended for those seeking to escape the urban hustle and embrace a slower pace of life.
