A Decent Spot to Relax Before a Flight
This was the sole lounge accessible for my United flight departing from BA. It was situated one level above departures, down a lengthy corridor. There were two checkpoints: one at the hallway's start, where staff verified my boarding pass for eligibility, and the second at the desk, where I scanned my pass for entry. Inside, the lounge was modern, reasonably sized, and not too crowded that evening. Curtains covered the windows on both sides, so there wasn't much of a view, but the interior lighting was quite bright. They had several neatly organized and clean food serving areas: a self-serve wine/alcohol counter alongside fruits, a breakfast counter with cereals, muffins, alfajores, and medialunas, a hot food counter with unremarkable options, and coffee machines featuring a cortado option I hadn't seen since Spain. I ate light, enjoying the fresh and sweet fruits. I also tried my final alfajores of the trip and liked the white chocolate version. There were bathrooms and a shower, though I didn't use them. Overall, it was a decent place to unwind before catching a flight.
