📍 Location Located approximately 4 km south of downtown Auckland, it is located in Cornwall Park under the One Tree Hill (Maungakiekie) volcanic hill. This 172-hectare green space was donated by Sir John Logan Campbell in 1901 for free use by all New Zealanders.   ⸻ 🚗 Transportation • Self-driving: From downtown Auckland, follow Manukau Road to the entrance of One Tree Hill Domain. • Public transportation: You can take a bus to One Tree Hill Domain and walk there. • Walking: If you start from the city center, it takes about 45 minutes to walk there.  ⸻ 📝 Personal experience Cornwall Park Museum is not a museum in the traditional sense, but a cultural experience space consisting of two historical buildings. Acacia Cottage is the oldest existing wooden building in Auckland. It was built in 1841 and was originally located on Shortland Street. It was moved here in 1921 and restored in 1956. This elegant Georgian building makes people feel like they have traveled back to the colonial period of New Zealand in the early 19th century.  Opposite Acacia Cottage is Huia Lodge, which was originally the residence of the park ranger and is now an information center, providing exhibitions on the park's history, nature and Maori culture. Here, visitors can watch an introductory video to learn about the geology of the Maungakiekie volcanic hill and how the Maori shaped it into a defensive settlement, and explore the Maori lifestyle through interactive computer reconstructions.   These two buildings are not only witnesses to history, but also rare cultural oases in modern cities.
