Bang Duea Temple, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Wat Bang Duea was built during the reign of King Borommarachathirat III, the 31st monarch of Ayutthaya. It was of great importance to the victory in the War of Independence, where King Taksin the Great chose this temple as the meeting place and command center before seizing Pho Sam Ton Camp. In the past, this was the place where King Taksin the Great set up his army before he seized Pho Sam Ton Camp and successfully reclaimed Ayutthaya. The word “Bang Duea” was established according to the Act on the Establishment of Subdistrict Names during the reign of King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Era.
