Accommodation suggestions in Zhangzhou: Near Zhangzhou Ancient City Accommodation suggestions in Dongshan Island: Seaside guesthouses at Dingjie DAY 1 ✈️Depart from anywhere in China in the morning - arrive in Zhangzhou around noon, then take a taxi to Zhangzhou Ancient City for lunch first, and check in after a good meal. 🍲Lunch: Satay hotpot/Satay seafood noodles After check-in and a short rest, you can start your citywalk in the ancient city! 👣Route👣 Spend the afternoon wandering and eating in the ancient city 📸Photo spots: Wenchang Gate ➡️ Department Store ➡️ Haixi Bowen Bookstore ➡️ Confucian Temple ➡️ Dinner ➡️ Nanshan Bridge (you'll pass through a beautiful pedestrian bridge decorated with lanterns when walking from the ancient city) Snacks: Duck poop-flavored ice cream, Four-fruit soup DAY 2 🚄Take the high-speed train to Dongshan Island in the morning: Quanzhou Station to Yunxiao Station (about 30 minutes, CNY 30). Arrive at Yunxiao Station around 11:00, take a taxi to Tongling Town for lunch, then check in! 🔔I stayed at a guesthouse along the seaside in Dingjie, with rooms offering stunning ocean views! Dingjie is close to Nanmen Bay and Two-sided Sea, making it a convenient location. 🛵Transportation tip: Rent an electric scooter 👣Route👣 🌴Nanmen Bay Instagram Wall ➡️ Dingjie (along the way in order: No. 51 Lighthouse - Transit Coffee Shop - Jinli General Store and many other photo-worthy shops) ➡️ Watch sunset at Nanwang Platform/Left Ear Platform 🌅 ➡️ Dinner 🍚Dining: Xiangxiang Ginger Duck, Iron Cow Brother. Both serve good local specialties. Warning: Pien Tze Huang Sugarcane Juice (consider your physical condition before drinking, I got sick all night after drinking it) DAY 3 Wake up early for sunrise (I could see it from my guesthouse, so I didn't go out specifically) ➡️ Nanyu Two-sided Sea ➡️ Ride electric scooter along the seaside ➡️ Lunch ➡️ Return home via Yunxiao Station Personal suggestions If you've been to Chaoshan before, you might want to skip Zhangzhou Ancient City. Spending all three days on Dongshan Island gives you a more relaxed schedule and allows you to visit more spots on the island. I personally found Dongshan Island more interesting than downtown Zhangzhou. The island has a slow pace of life, very chill, perfect for unwinding haha.
