The last Mongolian prince once lived in the Ejin Horo Banner Prince's Mansion, also known as the Yi Banner Prince's Mansion. Located in Aletengxire Town, Ejin Horo Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it is the only fully preserved prince's mansion in Ordos and the most complete one in the entire western Inner Mongolia. It is now a cultural relic protection unit of the autonomous region. The Prince's Mansion is divided into front and back courtyards, covering a total area of 2,105.79 square meters, with a total construction area of 1,040.44 square meters. The front courtyard was built in 1931, and the back courtyard was built in 1936. 📍 Address: Prince's Mansion Square, Aletengxire Town, Ejin Horo Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia 🚗 Transportation: There are Yujing Jiayuan and Yi Banner Ethnic Kindergarten bus stops within two or three hundred meters, making it very convenient to travel. 💰 Tickets: Free, no reservation required, but you must swipe your ID card to enter. ✅ Tips 1️⃣ Main attractions include Chongtian Gate, Tengger Square, Daming Hall, and Mongolian Style Garden. The scenic area is huge, and it takes at least 20,000 steps to complete the tour! 2️⃣ After entering Chongtian Gate, you can visit the museum on the first floor. It's free to visit, and you only need to make an on-site reservation at the entrance. It is recommended to rent an audio guide. There are seven or eight exhibition halls in the museum, displaying Mongolian and Yuan Dynasty cultural relics and history. 3️⃣ The scenic area is large and not crowded. The majestic ancient buildings are perfect for taking Mongolian-style photos. There are Mongolian costumes for rent at the entrance, but no makeup or photography services are provided. 4️⃣ The grasslands are not yet fully green, and it is considered the off-season in Ordos. The small stalls at the entrance are not fully open yet, so it is recommended to bring your own food and water. The last prince who lived here was named Qi Zhongyi (August 1927 - September 2007), also the last Mongolian prince in China. Qi Zhongyi's Mongolian name is Qiwowen Borjigin Ildeni Borlut, the 34th-generation direct descendant of Genghis Khan. In March 1949, he succeeded to the throne of the Ejin Horo Banner Prince and served as the Zasak of the Prince's Banner, becoming the last Mongolian prince in Inner Mongolia. On August 5 of the same year, he led all the military and political personnel of the Suiyuan Prince's Banner in a peaceful uprising and was appointed as the temporary head of the Prince's Banner. He later served as the head of Ejin Horo Banner, deputy head of Ih Ju League, and vice chairman of the CPPCC of the autonomous region.
