Early winter in Sanhe Ancient Town is like an ink wash painting of Jiangnan

In early winter, Sanhe Ancient Town in Hefei, Anhui, resembles a lively ink wash painting of Jiangnan. The town is named after the three rivers flowing through it: Fengle River, Hangbu River, and Xiaonan River. It has a history of over 2,500 years, was known as Que'an in the Spring and Autumn period, called Sanhe Town during the Ming Dynasty, and witnessed the "Sanhe Great Victory." The ancient town’s bluestone roads are covered with ginkgo leaves; when the wind blows, the fallen leaves flutter like butterflies. Along the moat, the Chinese tallow trees blaze with red, contrasting beautifully with the white walls and black tiles, creating a stunning scene. The bluestone slabs on the old street have been polished smooth by time, and the Hui-style buildings on both sides are uniquely distinctive, with their upturned eaves appearing even more exaggerated. Starting from the town center, pass through the Victory Arch built to commemorate the "Sanhe Great Victory," and you will arrive at the Three-County Bridge with three arches, where the three counties meet and the Xiaonan River flows quietly beneath. To the northwest of the Three-County Bridge is the Guocui Building, where you can climb up to overlook the entire ancient town. Inside, exquisite Hui-style cultural relics such as sedan chairs and plaques are displayed. Nearby, the Daifu Residence (Sanhe Folk Museum) also houses exquisite exhibits. To the northeast, the Xiangu Building (former site of Zhonghexiang) is a Hui-style residential temple. Walking north along the east bank of the Xiaonan River is the 500-meter-long Ancient West Street, which was once bustling.
