Hotel Riverge Akebono Twin Room

For the first night of my 3-night, 4-day trip to Nagoya, I stayed at Hotel Riverge Akebono, located in Fukui City in the Hokuriku region. Fukui City is preparing for the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen next year. This is my fifth visit to Fukui Prefecture. Previously, I stayed one night in Tsuruga and one night in Fukui City, and this time, I chose to stay in Fukui City again. Compared to my visit in 2019, a few high-rise buildings have been constructed, but the area around Fukui Station remains underdeveloped, with no Starbucks and a somewhat outdated atmosphere for a prefectural capital. I believe the city might grow to the size of Toyama once the Shinkansen extension is completed. The hotel is located about a 15-minute walk from Fukui Station. While it's a manageable distance on foot if the weather is good, it's only about a 5-minute taxi ride if it rains. Fortunately, it didn't rain during my visit. I arrived at Fukui Station after 11 PM from Nagoya and walked to the hotel to check in. The hotel consists of two buildings, the main building and the annex, with a total of 8 floors. I stayed in a twin room on the 7th floor. On the 8th floor, there is an observation bath. Although there is no open-air bath, the bathhouse features large glass windows, offering a spacious and open feel. The hotel is located by the river, and the view during cherry blossom season is stunning. The room was cozy, and the soundproofing was decent. I booked the twin room with breakfast included for around 6,000 yen in February, making it a great value for money. The breakfast is a highlight. All dishes are served individually on plates, boasting a repertoire of over 60 items. It includes all the famous specialties of Fukui. Thank you.
