Yangshan Temple in Wuji, Hengdong, Hunan

Located at No. 161 North Street, Wuji Town, Hengdong County, Yangshan Temple was first built during the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing era (1522-1566) and renovated during the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era (1735-1796). This temple was constructed by later generations to commemorate Marquis Yangshan, a loyal minister of Emperor Yan, who passed away here from overwork while governing the Mi River. Facing north, the temple covers a construction area of approximately 300 square meters. Built with brick and wood, it features a traditional hard hill roof with small blue tiles. The structure consists of two halls: the front hall is square-shaped with a caisson ceiling, while the back hall houses a seated statue of Marquis Yangshan. The temple walls are embedded with over ten stone carvings from the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods. It is now a Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit of Hunan Province.
