Stepping into this hotel for afternoon tea felt like entering a secret garden. Enjoying the afternoon here was truly delightful, and the excellent value for money made it even more commendable. This afternoon tea took place at CAFÉ A, located inside Hotel Alexandra Hong Kong. The restaurant features a Victorian palace style with dazzling crystal chandeliers. The luxurious yet elegant decor instantly captivated my eyes. Surrounded by lush greenery, enjoying this refreshing afternoon tea set was truly a relaxing experience for both body and mind. While savoring the afternoon tea, you can choose a drink from red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, or peach soda. My friend, who enjoys a slightly tipsy afternoon, chose the sparkling wine to indulge in. Having just recovered, I opted for the peach soda, which was refreshing and not overly sweet, making me feel comfortable and relaxed. We first tasted five delicious savory items, each quite substantial, making it possible to skip dinner. The pan-seared scallops were tender and flavorful, complemented by coconut pineapple jelly that highlighted the delightful seafood aroma. The smoked salmon puff with salmon roe and passion fruit cream cheese was a treat! The puff was filled with savory smoked salmon, offering a crispy yet soft texture, and the sweet and tangy passion fruit cream cheese added a remarkable flavor, showcasing the chef's thoughtfulness. The fig and foie gras mousse croffle was full of texture! The rich and flavorful foie gras mousse paired with the crispy croffle was very appealing. The last two savory items were also delicious! Freshly fried and very enticing. The crispy shrimp spring rolls were delightful, especially when paired with lime sauce, making them even more flavorful. The almond-crusted chicken wings stuffed with lychee were a unique combination! The wings were filled with whole sweet lychees, providing a juicy and satisfying bite. The lychee added a fragrant touch to the chicken, making it not greasy and exceptionally delicious. The desserts were equally delightful, with five options full of fruity aromas. The English scones with orange marmalade and clotted cream were always a soft and satisfying treat. The pomegranate mousse cake had a beautiful color, with soft mousse inside and a sweet and tangy pomegranate flavor that was delightful. The osmanthus lychee raindrop cake was definitely a representative of elegance! The smooth texture combined with the fragrant osmanthus and sweet lychee was irresistibly tempting. The pineapple madeleine cake was delicately cute! Although I've had many madeleines, adding pineapple was a first and felt very refreshing. The mango Napoleon was an absolute must-try, with crispy and flaky pastry layers filled with smooth custard cream and topped with ripe, sweet mango pieces. It was incredibly delicious. Lastly, the passion fruit panna cotta was a sweet delight! The top layer of tangy passion fruit sauce paired with the creamy panna cotta was very enjoyable. In addition to the initial special drink, the afternoon tea also offers unlimited coffee or tea! I chose the French Earl Grey tea with bergamot and French cornflower aroma, which was very comforting.
