Tsuen Wan Shanghainese Cuisine

Today, I went shopping in Tsuen Wan with a friend and noticed that Shanghai Ming Ju offered a very affordable set meal for two. So, we decided to check it out. It was quite busy during the evening hours. The set meal for two included cold dishes, dim sum, main courses, side dishes, and desserts. There were plenty of options to choose from. For the cold dish, we chose the spicy chicken (Kou Shui Ji). The portion was generous, with a whole chicken drumstick included. 😉 We also ordered an extra bowl of rice, which was very flavorful. For dim sum, we picked the soup-filled Xiao Long Bao. They were served hot, and we enjoyed them while they were still steaming. 😁 For the main course, we ordered the pickled fish soup. The portion was huge, with ingredients like potato noodles and lettuce stem, and there was plenty of fish. It had a tangy flavor, not too spicy, and was very appetizing. We also ordered a hot and sour soup, which was perfectly balanced with its sour and spicy flavors. To finish, we had fried milk as dessert. For the side dish, we chose stir-fried green beans. They paired perfectly with rice. The entire meal had fish, meat, vegetables, snacks, and dessert, making it very satisfying. Plus, the set meal was very reasonably priced.
