Huangshan·Chengkan｜Watch the "East Wind Night Blossoms a Thousand Trees" and "One Night Fish and Dragon Dance"

First time visiting southern Anhui in December. Although it’s winter, it’s not bleak and is much more delicate and beautiful than the north. After arriving at Huangshan North Station, the first stop was straight to Chengkan. Chengkan is one of the few places with a daily formal fish lantern performance. The long-awaited "One Night Fish and Dragon Dance" finally gave me the chance to experience the lively scene described in ancient poetry in person. 💰 Scenic area ticket ¥103, including the fish lantern performance, valid for three days. You can also buy a single ticket just for the fish lantern show. ID card scanning is required to enter the scenic area and the fish lantern performance. Shaqiu Square is the main venue for the fish lantern performance. 🕒 It’s now December, winter sunset is early, the show officially starts at 5:38 PM, lasting about 40 minutes, with performances every day. If you arrive early, you can apply to join the performance team. Inside the houses on Shaqiu Square, you get a relatively small fish lantern and walk with the performance team from start to finish. It’s said the fish lantern is a bit heavy and somewhat tiring. Today’s team was all beautiful young ladies, showing the scenic area really knows how to promote itself. 🐟🏮 The fish lantern performance has several parts. A host introduces the origin and meaning of the fish lantern performance and announces the official start. The performance team first circles the square three times, then goes around the lake once, and returns to Shaqiu Square. There are 3-4 fireworks displays during the show, including at the very beginning, when the fish lantern team reaches two bridges, and after returning to Shaqiu Square. 🎁 Small fish lanterns and fish lantern fridge magnets are sold at Shaqiu Square. The smallest fish lantern is ¥58, with others at ¥88 and ¥98, made of fabric. Fridge magnets are ¥58.
