Durbar at FMS

#summervacay Durbar at FMS, otherwise known as the historic Durbar Ipoh. Durbar at FMS occupies the restored building of the former FMS Bar—established in 1906 by a Hainanese immigrant and relocated to its current corner shoplot on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah in 1923, opposite Padang Ipoh . As one of Malaysia’s oldest bars and restaurants, it became a gathering spot for British colonialists, tin miners, and local elites during the early 20th century .Closed in 2008, the venue remained shuttered until 2019, when architect Seow Wee Liam meticulously restored it and relaunched it as Durbar at FMS, preserving its colonial charm with restored timber furniture, vintage lighting, historical photographs, and memorabilia . #travel #couplestrip
