Wulin Ancient Village

Wulin Ancient Village is located in Xintang Subdistrict, Jinjiang City, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China. Renowned for its fusion of Chinese and Western overseas Chinese architectural complexes and profound diaspora culture, it is hailed as the "Museum of Overseas Chinese Architecture." The village took shape during the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu era, flourished in the late Qing and early Republic of China periods, and boasts over 600 years of history. Nestled against Shigu Mountain and facing Wu'an Creek, the village preserves more than 100 distinctive buildings, including Minnan-style official residences, Gothic-style Western houses, and Roman-style foreign buildings, documenting the architectural evolution of southern Fujian from the Ming and Qing dynasties to modern times. Key highlights include: Chaodong Building, the earliest Western-style house in the village; Delong Building, showcasing exquisite gray sculptures and the inscription "He Shan Yan Qing" (Prosperity of Homeland) reflecting patriotic sentiments; the Qiaopi Museum, displaying letters and remittance documents between overseas Chinese and their hometown; and the Five-Story House, offering panoramic views of the Jinjiang River estuary.
