Visit a stationmaster cat!

Ride along on the Tama Museum train to Kishi station to visit a real cat that has become the stationmaster. If you love cats and are near Wakayama, taking the short trip down to Kishi is easy. You can get a day pass for 800 yen and a map that tells you various things to do at the stations along the way including picking strawberries. All the train cars are themed. The most beautiful is the Tama Museum BUT they also have a normal Tama one as well as a strawberry one and other themes. It always makes the ride more interesting when there is a well done theme right? How to get there: Wakayama station isn’t far from Osaka. Once there look for platform 9. You can let the cat pictures lead the way. What to do: Take pictures of all the cute cats. Check out Japanese countryside What to eat: At the Kishi station there is a small cafe. You can grab a cool drink and hotdog for pretty cheap. Shopping: Beware cat lovers! There is a shop with all things Tama! And it’s all very cute. Perhaps a small button will be enough or maybe you will go for the pens and notebooks or even a T-shirt! Extra activities: If you get a day pass, most stops along the line have an interesting place to visit. Also bring a stamp book and start your station stamp collection with one from Kishi station. Overall a fun half day/whole day trip from Osaka.
