🇲🇾🏨 Langkawi's Luxury Face-Off: The St. Regis vs. Four Seasons!

#summervacay Having had the pleasure of staying at both the Four Seasons and St. Regis in Langkawi (and their counterparts in Malaysia's capital!), I can confirm they are indeed neck-and-neck in terms of luxury experience. You can find more details about Langkawi's Four Seasons and its attractions in my previous notes on my homepage. While Langkawi's beaches aren't always touted as the most stunning, the island's charm lies in its less crowded, more relaxed environment. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of attractions and rainforest adventures to enjoy, which explains why new hotels continue to open there. The Four Seasons had the advantage of being an earlier establishment, securing a truly beautiful and expansive beachfront. This is where the Four Seasons arguably edges out the St. Regis, as you can see from photos that the St. Regis's beach is quite ordinary (a similar issue found at the later-built Ritz-Carlton). However, their architectural styles differ: the Four Seasons boasts a striking Moroccan Islamic design (which I personally love, especially their spa!), while the St. Regis adopts a more modern aesthetic. Some guests might prefer the latter. Another significant draw for the St. Regis is its restaurant, Kayuputi, designed by the renowned Bill Bensley. (I've mentioned this restaurant before when I was exploring my #bensleycollection). I find Kayuputi to be both visually stunning and incredibly delicious, making it a worthwhile dining destination even if you're not staying at the St. Regis. In terms of service, both hotels are fairly comparable, though I've consistently had excellent impressions of the St. Regis's service.
