#November Destinations 2025 Xijiang Miao Village, the largest Miao village in China, is located in Leishan County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is renowned for its well-preserved "original ecological" Miao culture, boasting a spectacular cluster of wooden stilted houses. It's an open-air museum for experiencing Miao clothing, silver ornaments, language, cuisine, and traditional customs, and an important base for Miao cultural research. Visitors can enjoy ethnic song and dance performances, experience handicraft making, taste local delicacies such as sour fish soup, and climb to the viewing platform for a panoramic view of the entire village, experiencing its unique charm. Its distinctive feature is the ingeniously constructed wooden stilted houses built into the mountainside, mostly three stories high: the ground floor for storage, the middle floor for living quarters, and the upper floor for storing grain.
