La La Land Filming Locations & Hollywood Street Travelogue

The most anticipated part of my trip to Los Angeles was visiting the filming locations of La La Land and exploring Hollywood Street. I was curious to see how the scenes from the movie would feel in real life and whether the glamour of Hollywood would match its reputation. The first stop was Griffith Observatory, the iconic location where Mia and Sebastian danced together in La La Land. Perched atop a hill, the classic architecture and the sweeping view of LA were even more romantic than in the movie. Especially at sunset, when the sky begins to glow, the scenery truly feels like a scene straight out of the film. Next, I visited the Hermosa Beach Lighthouse Café, another spot featured in La La Land. In reality, it’s a small jazz bar, and while it has become a popular tourist spot thanks to the movie, the soulful vibe of the music remains intact. Then, I headed to the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. I strolled along the stars engraved with celebrities' names, snapping photos, and admired the handprints and footprints of actors in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre. The Dolby Theatre, known for hosting the Academy Awards, had a distinct atmosphere that set it apart. To be honest, Hollywood Street was more crowded and chaotic than I had expected. It felt a bit worn and bustling rather than glamorous, but it’s still a place worth visiting at least once. The La La Land filming locations were truly special, allowing me to immerse myself in the movie’s emotions, while Hollywood Street offered a symbolic experience that was satisfying overall. I recommend combining these two destinations into a single-day itinerary.
