Maldives 🇲🇻First experience of horse riding on the beach

20250626 At the end of the trip, we finally managed to add a horse riding trip to the beach. I thought it was beautiful when I saw people riding horses and wanted to find someone to book this activity. However, after asking around, it seemed that no one knew who to ask. They only knew that if there were horses, it was right to ask them (nonsense 😆). However, it was also very casual, just like the style of the Maldives, haha. Let’s get back to the point. As expected, when we had just finished watching the sunset and were about to give up looking for horses and walk back to the hotel, we met someone leading horses (all kinds of unexpected trips 😜). We asked them and they said it was $12 USD for a round trip to the beach. At first, it sounded quite cheap, so we made an appointment with them. However, when I saw the horse spitting, I thought it was unwell, which made me want to give up again 😆. I don’t want my happiness to be based on the suffering of animals, so I repeatedly asked the grooms if they were sick? Or did they need to rest? They told me that they were very healthy and strong. I thought, okay, it seems that there is nothing wrong with this. It just fulfilled my dream of riding horses by the beach 💭. On the way to chat with the groom, I learned that the horses were named Sophia, she was 14 years old, and I also chatted with the groom. He said that he was from Sri Lanka and now lived on the Maldives resident island. He asked me if I liked it here, and I said I liked it very much. But, in my heart, what I like most is the people here, who simply and sincerely welcome and respond to the feelings of every traveler.
