Castello Sforzesco (Milan)

Castello Sforzesco is a massive, imposing fortress right in the heart of Milan. It's a place where history and art coexist. We spent hours exploring the various courtyards and museums within the castle walls. Seeing Michelangelo’s final masterpiece, the Rondanini Pietà, was a deeply moving experience. The castle grounds are beautiful, too, and we loved the juxtaposition of the ancient brick walls with the modern city life outside. It’s a fantastic place to get a sense of Milan's history and see some of its most important artistic treasures.
