At Okinomiya Temple in Okinawa, I picked up a bottle of Omiki sake. The small, transparent bottle held a clear liquid. The label read "Omiki" and featured the distinctive crests of the Eight Shrines of Ryukyu. Omiki sake was originally an offering to the gods. When people brought it back after a ceremony or prayer, it symbolized the divine blessing they were carrying home.
