New York's Most Iconic Walking Route: A Stroll Across the Brooklyn Bridge

If you're visiting New York, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a must! This time, I started from the Brooklyn side and walked towards Manhattan (highly recommend this direction!). Walking this way, you'll have the entire Manhattan skyline unfolding right before your eyes—absolutely breathtaking. Plus, the route isn't too steep, and you can conveniently visit Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO to capture the iconic "street view under the bridge." 🚶‍♀️ Walking Experience on the Bridge Walking on the bridge is a unique experience: On one side, the old wooden planks creak underfoot, while below you, cars rush by in a constant stream. Above, Gothic stone arches and a web of steel cables create a scene straight out of an old movie. Scenic highlights along the way include: • The Statue of Liberty waving at you from afar 🗽 • Ferries and sailboats occasionally passing on the East River • Brooklyn and Manhattan facing each other on either side • On clear days, you can even see the World Trade Center shimmering ✨ The bridge spans about 1.6 kilometers, and a leisurely walk with photo stops takes around 30-40 minutes. 📸 Recommended Photo Spots 1. DUMBO Brick Wall Intersection (Washington St. & Water St.) → The bridge is right in front of you, with the Empire State Building visible in the distance—an Instagram hotspot! 2. Under the Stone Arch in the Middle of the Bridge → Use a wide-angle lens for dramatic shots—perfect for fans of geometric lines! 3. Manhattan Skyline at Dusk → Sunset plus city lights make for the most romantic time to capture the view.
