Feasting on Flavours: My Nasi Padang Experience at Padang Merdeka

While in Jakarta, I was eager to try Nasi Padang, a beloved Indonesian cuisine known for its bold spices and generous spread of dishes. I ended up at Padang Merdeka, which was conveniently open even during the Ramadan period. The waitress brought a variety of dishes all at once—chicken, fish, beef, eggs, veggies—beautifully arranged and wrapped in plastic for hygiene. At Padang eateries, you only pay for what you unwrap. I went with the curry chicken, curry vegetables, tempeh, and bergedil served with fragrant steamed rice.
